Hello Skyrider and welcome! No new ride reports from me for awhile - it's a bit cloudy and -17C here today. So I probably won't get out today...

0.35 , I have a couple of things 'plaguing my old chap ' as well, can you help ?

I agree the old A120 was nicer. A country road but straight enough for all vehicles to move along at a decent pace, lots of thatched cottages to look at etc. Had a few icy nights when I would be riding down the outside of a 15 mile queue, usually an accident at the Stebbing side road. I once saw a the weirdest looking horse being led by someone in a high viz vest briefly flash by in the headlights (it's an unlit road), I thought I was seeing things. A news item a few days later revealed it was a woman walking a llama at night as practice for a round the world walk. It had been hit and killed by a vehicle. After they built the new A120 my trip to work went from an hour down to 45 minutes. After getting fuel at Start Hill one night I thought I would carry on riding home on the old A120. That was when I hit the muntjac deer and killed it, I think the quieter road lulled us both in to a false sense of security. I hit it when it ran out from behind the sign saying STEBBINGFORD PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY.

Bearing With My Himalayan - Part 1 - Wheel Removal The time has come to change the front steering bearings in Bagheera, my 2019 Royal Enfield Himalayan. Bagheera has 6000km on him and that might seem early for a bearing change, but I believe the conditions I ride in can wear things out on the bike a bit faster. It's a great opportunity to learn more about my bike and as usual things never go according to plan, so this has turned into a multi-part video. I had a busy day today had to weigh in some scrap then change a headlight bulb on the wife's car which was the most difficult thing in the world to get to, my mate took me to get a new bulb the scenic way in his old Landy and then my new stripper turned up so been playing with that all afternoon

right on friday afternoon seeing as it was cold and frosty i went into the cave with the heater on and drained the tank and carb checked the air filter cleaned the plug and re gapped it, so now the old serow is almost ready for the road will do the tyres nearer the time

I am aware of the Hilux there, and it is the same for the 4Runner here, they just go and go. I love the thing, it can crawl through anything and look good doing it. One of the last frame on body trucks you can get here, which I like, you can feel the road under you. ?

A little derailment of subject, Did I hear you say you had a four runner, we didn't get them here in the UK officially but they were imported from japan and were called a Hilux Surf, the one i had gave me 15 years of trouble free driving bloody great wagon

@Clive @Swagman......here's a good one from @Tym's past. A few years ago now.....he can tell you more. Apparently there was somebody in the woods shooting at people......so the Cops told people to stay away from that area till they'd got him. Tym wasn't happy about that so he grabbed a load of weapons, jumped on the KLR and raced off to the woods so HE could shoot the nutter himself. By the time he got there the cops had had him........so there was nobody left for Tym to shoot. He was inconsolable for weeks after that disappointment!

As a helpful note, I always take the calliper off before the wheel as a lot of the time you'll catch it with the wheel rim when removing. Paint is pants now days, chips n scratches easy. Ready for part 2.

Nah, that would take more effort than I'm willing to expend.

But a lot of knowledge and experience lies behind the light hearted banter. Just cos people don't make it serious doesn't mean they don't take it serious. For example @Lone Amigo was riding in the 1950's........and I believe (and he'll correct me if I'm wrong) he even raced against Dick Mann. The other thing is I'm sure everybody here has ridden all their lives.......and most of us are really old now. Lot of years, lot of miles, lot of injuries too. The youngest is @Pedro who's nearly 40......but he's been with us since 2004. With you joining he can finally relinquish his Baby of the Forum role!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! ? As 2020 comes to an end I think everyone is looking forward to 2021. For myself, 2020 will be remembered for many things, but mostly as the year motorcycles came back into my life. This past year has been full of fun adventures and all thanks to a motorcycle. With a short flash back to remember the summer and warm wishes of good health and adventures for 2021, I am looking forward to a new year! ? Safe Travels Everyone! ?️??
