  5. Supposed to rain itself out today, and weekend looks clear with manageable temperatures at last. Not sure if the wife is going to drag me to the shops tomorrow (I'm not mentioning it just in case) but Sunday I'll be out. Hopefully to that remote abandoned village in the Sierra de Segura that's been on hold for the last couple of months due to the heat! What are you guys up to?

  7. Well it’s stopped raining here and the sun is out but haven’t got enough time to get out today so tomorrow it is then! No specific plans but having just cleaned the Himalayan after it’s last foray into the dusty countryside I think it deserves a relatively clean ride around the local twisty roads. I’ll meet up with the rest of the old farts and see where the mood takes us!

  9. This road is so much fun that I rode it 3 times today. Once at speed as curves are so much fun and then back down and back for pictures. Love this place!

  10. And on to Gateway - the real reason I wanted to head over to this part of the state in the first place. Desert road with bends, drop offs and walls. There are a few cars at the bottom of the cliff, just below the turn of the road - hard to see the bends at night...

  15. Up and outta the house at 0630 today to start the ride as today was gonna be along one. Shame it was 37F / 2-1/2C at 6;30. Freakin' freezin' when you're doing 85 mph on the highway for the first 3 hours. I didn';t take a single pic as it was too cold to stop. But once I got near Sapinero, CO, it warmed up a bit. This part of Colorado looks a bit different from my area...

  16. I came across this on YouTube and it's given me quite a few pointers on how to make my vids more interesting. I don't think any of us have the sort of pro equipment this guy has.......but there's a whole lot more to it than just the video quality. Take a look and see what you think!

  19. They were used to haul the mail and supplies to remote mining towns that had few roads to them, but had tracks from mining operations. Most of these places still don't have paved roads - just dirt / rock roads. But they're mostly empty and no one goes there anyway.

  23. The wooden structure you can see on the side of the canyon is a hanging flume - a waterway to transport water to a mine. Probably from the 1880's......

  24. Rode through Telluride, but it was beyond crowded with tourists, didn't take a single picture. Did stop outside of town at the abandoned gold mine there - place was huge! Looks to be from the 1920's or so...

  27. well, next session is 4th october and then not again till march next year as the off road bits will get very slippy with the winter weather but more to the point the "chasseurs" will be out in the woods, pissed as usual and shooting rifles at anything that moves, (deer, boar, dogs, dog walkers, joggers, motorcyc;lists or each other, they ain't picky...) I am wondering if I should try and swap to an "on road" riding and handling course a sbeing possibly less pysically demanding.

  35. ...and its not a pretty picture! Pics from an upcoming classic vid for Pedro to see how the poorest people in New London County CT live. This is not a safe place after darkness btw. Most structures you see are multi family, and very few are occupied by owners.
