Your Day Today!

What a fucking day, just got back from MIU with Shadow.  She rear ended a car and went over the handlebars.    Badly bruised shoulder and in a bit of shock but fundamentally ok, thank the lord she had all her protective gear on and had luck on her side.   I don't know what's up with her at the moment that twice in two days, normally she has been a careful and safe rider but the last couple of days I don't know.  Yesterday she hit gravel in the rain so there was mitigation but today she was stone cold 100% to blame.  😳

Bike is fixable as is the car she hit but she is going to be off the road for a few weeks at least.    All reported and insurance details exchanged so we have to wait and see what happens next.   I have had better days. 😦

Doesn't sound like you had a good day ... but at least she's ok, If nothing else she should learn from this. Getting a call to say your kid has been involved in an accident must be the worst ...

I've had better days, but she is home safe which I will settle for.   👍

If anything it is worse now.   Plenty of time to strip the valve cover and check out the timing chain definitively but I don't think it's that.   😳   I'm not going to touch it until I hear from the insurance people.   Don't know if they will want to inspect it or not.  EIther way I want to strip the forks and check the headstock before she goes out on it again.  They look okay but I want to check them off the bike. .  I don't know if they will cancel her insurance after a claim or not.  I have told her to be prepare for weeks not days off the road.  Give her time to get her head straight.  Luckily she can walk to work, will put a crimp on her social life though.     Needs new handlebars, levers, indicators and paint.    Doable but getting tedious now. 😐

Bought her this earlier today bit late I suppose.

Her insurance premium isn’t going to go down anytime soon.

She knows that but I don't think the gravity of the situation has hit her yet,  not sure she will be able to get insurance.    Her boyfriend (18) had a smack last year and his premium is £200 a month now.

Insurance for kids is crazy expensive these days. I almost feel guilty only paying £130 a year for mine….almost.

My nephew has got his test this month … where he can ride want he wants after … prices are mental for insurance , a 20 year old fire blade is cheaper than a  2 year old Trident 660 and that is still dear
