The weekend

What have you guys got planned for the weekend? Is it getting nice where you are?

I'm near Porto in Portugal. Tomorrow, I hope I wake up not too late, get on the bike and ride to Faro to meet a friend for dinner. It'll be 1 hour something on the motorway then catch the smaller roads to get there, a little less than 600km. Then enjoy Faro on Sunday and come back North to meet Sofia near Lisbon on Monday. They're saying it's going to get warm, I hope it doesn't get too warm.

Gotta finish cutting up the dead willow tree in my back yard today....then Mrs. Hook & I will head to the dump in the morning to unload it (for Free)...after that we'll head up to Kingsbury Ln. for a dirt-road ride to see if the wildflowers are blooming🌸💮....it's quite lovely when they do.

Heading to the shed in a bit to cook the carb in the ultrasonic tank on the F7 again. Bike runs but won't tick over. Jets are clear but suspecting a blockage in the carb as it looks like it's been in water in it's past..
Hoping Mandi will finish her weekend work so we can nip out on the bikes for a bit as it's the better weather today.
First BTTC race tomorrow afternoon.

After a boiling, 2 hits of 20 min ultrasonics and a high pressure air line blasting the little kwacker is running and ticking over. Still plenty of odds n sods to get sorted but glad the major work is over.

After a hard night, got up at around 10 and made it out by 11, 600 km later and i’m in Faro.

One stop for lunch, one for fuel and one to warn of my eta. 28 to 30° all day.

Got that tree unloaded....headed to Kingsbury Ln. but not much in the way of wildflowery, probably due to the screwy weather we had last winter....they might still show in another month...we'll see.

Everything was sooo Green from the recent rains....:classic_cool: I kept thinking how much fun this would have been on my old XT 550....

When we finally made it back down to Hwy 204, we decided to head west towards the old Spout Springs ski area which gets up to 5100 ft. elevation....shame it hasn't been running for at least 5-6 yrs. as its only 30 miles from home.

Definitely a bit more chilly at the higher elevations....

On the way back down, we seemed to have our timing dialed in as there was virtually no traffic....so I was able to keep a steady 55+mph pace for a good 6+ miles....coasting in neutral....gotta love a manual gearbox.👍

I can’t help noticing something different about your roads ….

….the nice even smooth surface without potholes or gravel and sand all over the place… more than 10m2 of tarmac without a hole in it could become a tourist attraction for us Brits 🤣

You blink and suddenly they are grown up. You need to make the most of your time with them.
