It don't work like that here you get your bike back after you pay the bill but obviously if the guy doing the work is a mate that's different. The Honda dealer i was going to in the 90's was great i used to phone up and order all sorts of parts then go and pick them up and pay when they arrived, when he closed his mechanic reopened his shop as a service and MOT shop and he said myself and a few others were the only ones to have that service anyone else would have to pay a non refundable deposit up front before said parts would be ordered.
