They look hideous compared to a proper Sportster. Can't even imagine how they can become a super moto, though.
  5. He looks like it, but it's definitely a mix with the local village dog. He definitely has Jack Russel temperament regarding other dogs, though
  6. Went for a walk on the cliffs with my buddy today, he’s like a mountain goat climbing stuff and jumping over drops. Sadly he must stay in a leash as he goes for most dogs.
  7. Which part of France is that?
  8. A movie about an old sailor’s lazy slow end. Watch it quietly with a drink, it’s quite something even if sad.
  9. He’s not the shortest guy you’ll meet, but he’s short. Let’s not make fun of him, he’s probably had enough of it in real life.
  10. Why not put the spare engine in, and rebuild the original one to 175cc and give it some attitude? She’d love that!
  11. Now, Paul, someone was supposed to ask you: we’re not supposed to make fun of @Marcel for being really short. So please, regardless of how short he is, don’t make fun of him as he likes to think he’s really tall!
  12. Looking nice, get a water fixture and it’ll be very “Mr, Miyagi”!
  13. I don’t think it could. But there are worse looking bikes, at least it’s not trying hard to look like a Harley.
  14. I don’t think it’s that bad.

I don’t think so, no. The thought of having to lube a chain again is annoying even before I have to do it. But that bike isn’t meant to be for me. I haven’t ridden one yet, but at 230kg wet I’ll be surprised if it feels more agile than my bike.

I think I want a big displacement traillie with more offroad ability. Something that can go on long trips easily and relaxed in doing road miles but is better suited for a little more offroad than a GS. It has to be nice enough of a road bike for a quick 300km on the motorway without feeling stressed and exhausting, and have creature comforts. The R12G/S seems almost perfect on paper except it’s got a baby fuel tank. I had a sit on one and I honestly I didn’t really feel interested on taking it out for a testride. The new R1300 Adventures are growing on me, they seem strong mechanically so maybe I’ll test one in a year or so and see how they are. I’d like a R1200GS rallye to maybe treat in a different way than I do my bike. The RT is a fantasy bike for me, but maybe in a few years. I like the Harley Low Rider ST a lot, but can’t see me enjoying riding that on any of the roads I enjoy except on the motorway, plus can’t see me turning it around in the garages I park either And also I would feel like a show off on a Harley. I am probably going to be flying to London in October and riding a Scrambler 1200XE home along with Sofia on another one. That will certainly tell me if I want a traillie like that or not.

That’s what you say you want, but what you really want is a project. I think you need two more bikes, really: the second one to “just get on and ride” and the third one to “paint brake callipers and rebuild stuff with needles and new seals”. Tell your wife this is what keeps a man out of extra marital habits.
  19. I meant it's good and practical for a quick trip for groceries.
  20. Depending on the trip, the fact that you put some of the luggage weight straight "into" the bike makes that that extra weight affects it less. I forgot to say, one thing I really don't like about it is that you have to lift the passenger seat to fuel it up. It's not an issue unless you carry stuff on that seat, in which case it's annoying.
  21. I have been taking walks with Sofia’s dog for a few days and trying to be calm and zen, so won’t watch it.
