That deer doesn’t seem very normal to me, might have shorter neck than the Portuguese ones but it’s dancing with a little child!

@Slowlycatchymonkey I have tried Berber coffee for the first time this year in Morocco, and have been trying to replicate it a few times now. It'll put a whole new twist on black coffee and you'll like it if you like fragrant spices. It's not meant to be expresso thick so I make it in a french press: use the usual amount of coffee that you would for a strong cup, but then add spices to the ground coffee before adding and mixing the water as normal. All of them are optional but I have tried it this way and like it: pinch of rock sea salt, coursely ground black pepper, ground cinnamon (more than the others), , ground nutmeg, ground ginger, ground cardamom (less than the others), and from there on invent within reason. Small amounts of each. A couple of mint leaves go well as well. Mix it and try it that way, no sugar needed for me and the cinnamon takes care of that, but pretty sure most rural Moroccans will add plenty of sugar to it. It'll be a different coffee experience.

I once was the first person into the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao, there’s this big exhibit in a giant room where you walk amongst some huge metal sheets signifying life and perspective and all sorts of feelings, and it was great to feel lost for an hour in there. When at the end of my visit I decided to pop back in to that room a group of spanish women had just walked in there and were clearly enjoying it very much, noisy as only older spanish ladies can be, it just wasn’t the same!

Good stuff, it’s great that you’re left by yourself to enjoy the place. People often ruin the experience.

Do you own a french press? If you do I’ll send you a recipe to challenge your dislike of coffee.

That’s the rolling stones leg syndrome

Love your man’s jacket, proper cool! Although I think his glasses might be upside down! Classy bike too, the BMW! I am not a fan of frosting on cakes but it is great to see a couple on a Sunday morning ride out. Who knows, maybe there’s a change of you two eventually making a ride report or two. PS: still think that 9T would be my preferred travel bike choice out of your stable.

0 for effort.

Caldo Verde, it’s a soup, potato and onions on the base, chorizo, and lots of thinly sliced cabbage. Soul food.

Today’s first dish for dinner was an amazing carrot salad with spices and orange juice dressing, and fresh sausage meatballs. I just finished that and it was delicious. Next it’s a Portuguese staple, Caldo Verde, perfect soup for a late dinner at the end of a cold day.

To elaborate, it teaches you patience, if you want to try and kick it right away once you’re sweating and tired you’ll still have to wait the same 2 minutes as you originally should have. It’s very Zen.

Mine doesn’t like to start after you switch it off when it’s laying down and hot. If I was a smoker that would be the time to light one up, just wait a couple of minutes and it’s good again

Sofia’s very portuguese tomato and pea rice, pork with mustard sauce, and balsamic caramelised shalots. A perfectly comforting and tasty dinner.

WTF! That’s not cool, there’s a poor old XTreme that doesn’t register here because someone uses his name So turns out everyone has been using fake names, I feel like I don’t know anyone anymore. I’m Pedro in real life, but you can call me Batman on here if you want.

I highly prefer Catherine to him. Did he change his name because he wanted to be a real Jones?
