In Portugal they go along with a friendly vibe to the public, maybe they’re good people in their own circles but their business is mostly criminal, involved in extortion, racketeering and drugs. A couple of years ago there was a joined operation by Portugal’s PJ and Europol to move in on the Portuguese Hells Angels, they were accused of extreme violence to enforce their extortion activity. Within hours a few were scattered around Europe and picked up all around, mostly Germany (oldest non US chapter). Edit: trial was of 20 or 40 guys, none of them said a single word, and a couple of judges resigned from the case. Nice guys

I was honestly a little sad for losing that considering the whole trip in which it was shot, but am over it and it’s all good. People chose the other bike so keep that.

My mate has gotten a new one. He’s a very inexperienced and timid rider so is relearning motorcycle riding. His shows 2.9lt/100km. Granted it’ll go up when ridden properly but it’s impressive!

In Spanish, cojones are testicles, but cajones are the drawers in furniture, general wooden boxes, and coffins!

I have one too, did try one of the bottles the other day and they worked ok, i think using two or three I could have pressure to ride. But still would rather have a pump for peace of mind.

Sherco builds some bikes in Spain, the trials ones. Ossa and Bultaco are very cool old brands. Montesa is Honda’s trials manufacturer, proper bikes! Gas Gas was completely independent up until a few years ago, also proper bikes.

People who buy them race them. It’s a 70hp 450cc that lasts two Dakars before a rebuild, all that suspension, and probably assembled by hand in low numbers. It’s not difficult to see where the money goes.

A kTM Rally is 30 or 35000€. I’m honestly curious to see an honest comparison.

I’ve realised a few of my favourite small roads on the GS aren’t fun at all on a car. Get a longer travel suspension bike, there’s a reason they’re so popular in places where cities have poor roads.

Portugal needs a few immigrants but they all want to go to the UK instead. Free full english breakfasts, apparently!!!

It’s like when you look at the Husqvarna 401 scrambler and it just looks like shit from up close, this is the same.
