  1. Same, works well in England elsewhere meh. You have to find it on google maps then find that point on the Garmin map to navigate to it. Rubbish. I asked Garmin about it and it was the usual crap. Still it beats having your phone pack up cos its too hot, or cold or wet and oh the suns too bright for the crappy screen, oh liquid detected its stopped charging, oh balls it won't image stabilise anymore, oh FFS stop the txt alert banners covering the instructions..
  2. Yer but his missus is super feckin cool n packs cowhides for bedding. In a previous life her name was Lagertha.
  3. Hang on Ill go find someone who knows
  4. You can laugh my phones packed up more than once in the heat. They have battery protection so if it gets too hot they go into a type of low power mode to reduce the battery temp, the screen dims to the lowest setting, refresh and background activity is stopped. Only happens in direct sunlight, using satnav and charging it at the same time. Got lost for over an hour thanks to that. Went into a cafe and got some ice put it in a bag and wedged it behind the phone holder, worked a treat. by the way phones silicone cases can increase this heat, silicone is made from sand, its a complex process involving many stages, have I told you about sand yet? I understand @Bucksters keen to know.
  5. Ooh all this bike talk, its like a bike forum or summink
  6. The grass isnt a problem its the hedge trimming that takes forever.

  11. Nope, had a nice chat with her a few weeks ago. Said Id PM her when I got back here, did that, message not picked up.
  12. I didnt know that was a real thing. Looked it up its said its a fungus, White-nose syndrome, probably introduced from Europe.
  13. Same. It’s really noticeable this year. Usually the light going through the back door means it’s plastered in moths and insects. This year I’ve not seen a single moth. We also usually see a shedload of bats, they circuit the house hoovering up free dindins and this year so far we’ve seen none
  14. Germany do an in flight catch study. They catch everything flying over a certain area (can’t remember how big) then weigh the catch. Since the 70’s it’s gone down 76% and during the summer when activity should be at its height it’s dropped over 80% Just to add to the woe the catch is done over a nature reserve - no light pollution, low pesticide levels, the ideal environment for insects, so they’e saying everywhere else is likely a lot worse than that!
  15. I fear we’re tipping over the precipice.
  16. Mismanagement and the distribution mechanisms in place are wholly flawed. Theres a phenomenal amount of food waste, 2.5 billion tonnes of food per year (about a 1/3 of all food produced), thats a lot of unnecessary damage. Spains introducing very high fines (up to 500,000 euros) for food producers and restaurants that throw away food, they have to have agreements with food banks and charities to use it, harsh but a step in the right direction.
