I know someone with a house for sale you would love. In the US, it freezes and gets huge amounts of snow most of the year. There's snowmobiles and I think you can poke a hole in ice anywhere. @Earache, meet @Nute

This was today’s weather. It’s 68 degrees north, roughly the same as the north of Alaska. For me it’s the most stunningly beautiful place I’ve ever been, and I’ve probably been here 20 times. Also northern lights a while back and the stunning views.

I’m sitting in front of a log fire with my feet up in the log cabin in the right of the picture as I type this. No northern lights outside at the moment though.

Things go from good to better, we had the new boiler (iam sure @Six30 will make a joke out of that ) fitted a short while ago, new windows and patio doors were fitted last week, they are coming in 1 week to fit the living room window that they fucked up on size wise last week, and on the same day they are fitting new soffits, facias and guttering, we will soon have a almost new bungalow........

Off to Ohio in the morning with two of the scoots. @Six30 would be so proud. It's not a van but not far from it.

I wonder if any of the other Jap manufactures will follow suit. It's what i need more choice of, a modern XR650r would be nice. But just cant understand how they can call over 150Kg ultra low weight unless their comparing it with a container ship. https://suzukicycles.com/dualsport/2025/dr-z4s

I may as well go to Donington Park & Cadwell Park and watch the bike BSB racing live, entry at each circuit cost around the same as 1 months TNT subscription.

The garage was quick fitting the new bushes I do not know if it any quieter over rough road surfaces (obviously ) but I can no longer feel a thumping through the steering.

Only fishing I have done in recent years is while we were on holiday in Majorca, 30c and clear blue skies, ice fishing!...bugger that But each to their own.

Well the fifth horseman of the apocalypse has gone home, should be landing in about an hour. Haven’t seen anything on the BBC news about a Virgin Atlantic plane being forced to divert by a passenger overloading all the toilets so looks like all is good. Meanwhile I have escaped to north of the artic circle for some skiing, snow mobiling, possibly ice fishing, and to single handedly eat an entire reindeer within 6 days. I absolutely love this place.

I did try to alter the heating settings (digital display) but it put up a warning when i tried to raise it , so I left it as the engineer set it . now the weather is a little milder it is doing fine.

Bonus for me, I get TNT sports through Discovery+ . On the downside TNT have lost a lot of the Italian football that I watch so sometimes I'm having to pay 5.99 euros for a single game to watch it on OneFootball. It's all a big rip off .........

It's already almost over, the weekend, but there's still time Storm Eowyn is arriving at Northern Portugal just now, leaves and stuff are now starting to fly around and it's looking very Irish or Scottish outside. I was supposed to take yesterday's sunshine to wash my bike and take it to my mechanic's for a chinwag and some coffee, but didn't. Me and my dad have fallen out big time over the last month or two, but now he's been admitted at hospital for a lung infection and having late stage ALS means he's probably not getting out of hospital. As such the last few days served to patch things up to give him some peace, and yesterday was particularly emotional. That has affected my motorcycling, though. Today will be more of the same, but with weather warnings.

Modern condensing boilers are in part more efficient because the output temp ( to your rads) is lower than with the non condensing type, so you are absolutely right that the rads prob don’t get as hot as with an older boiler. You can alter the output temp yourself, at least you can on mine, but the higher you make it the less efficient the thing will be.
