I did walk the 300yds to the bakery and back for bread this morning but that is going to get stale pretty fast... ( ) I am allowed to go food shopping and from monday pick the kids up from school but them being twins and too big to fit in the panniers, that ain't going to be by bike...unless one of them gets ill... hmmm, I wonder...?

  3. It's not the content of the photo Bob.......it's the quality of it. It's blurred and pixelated.........like he's taken it on a Polaroid Swinger from the 1960's.

  7. So my job as a temporary veterinarian assistant saw me holding down a dog as he had his butt checked, he didn’t like it one bit as one can assume. But I used the technique I use when I need to hold Costa in the vet and it worked a treat. But today we had a cat with serious skin problems in need of a skin scratch sample and a blood sample. To my horror I was told that I would probably be holding it down, but @Sofiamanaged to do all of it with minimal fuss and I had to do nothing except hold a little bit of cotton to stop the blood after the sample was taken. I was scared shitless through the entire thing and I swear he could see the terror in my eyes when he looked at me while I was holding his paw and was evaluating how many more seconds he would give me before tearing my face to shreds. All was ok and I managed to not be mauled, but this is a very unhappy cat:

  12. Well, what a way to start November......A quiet, sunny Sunday in autumn with brilliant corners and scenery that makes you go....damn ?

  13. Wow, that can be interesting work. I volunteered for awhile at a vet / animal shelter and saw some really crazy stuff. I was lucky most of the time but once had a freaked out cat get loose, it ran into a shower room for the dogs and the floor was wet, the cat turned, I slipped and it ripped me to shreds before heading out the door and down the next hallway. ?

  17. If you're just a 'point and shoot' type of person (like me), then a good phone camera is better. You don't need a DSLR nowadays.

  18. I find it annoying to carry a big camera, on and off the bike, completely gave up on them in favour of my phone that is now always held onto the handlebar. But I’m not one to really be into photography, I understand a proper camera makes sense for someone who actually enjoys shooting pictures. I had all my Morocco pictures in two separate hard drives, both failed which caused me great sadness because I thought I would never get to see them again. Eventually my brother managed to save them from one of the drives, and I now carry them both in a cloud and a memory card at the same time.

  20. It's not camera advice I need, it's money for a decent f'kin camera... I'd like a decent DSLR for Christmas if you're feeling generous... I also just discovered that I have somehow managed to loose a load of picturs...they're on here, some are on fessedebouc but they ain't anywhere I can find them on the poota. ?

  29. VIEWER WARNING High Rain Content & Visible Muddy Puddles On the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia it is very likely to rain ? for days at a time in the autumn. So you tend to get used to playing in the rain. I have come to love riding through the rainforest in the rain, with the low clouds and the mist hanging in the forest, it's magical. ?? On this ride we just putter about in the forest and stop by Phare Lake to enjoy the view. ?

  32. I borrowed a DSLR from a friend a while back and really enjoyed using it and got some stunning photos with a little bit of pre planning and thought. But don't worry, I won't be getting one anytime soon. I do agree with Pedro's comment about the pain in the arse of hauling around a big camera and my current one just fits in my pocket. I use the phone for navigation and it winds me up having to get it out from it's mount every time I want to take a pic, so I still prefer using the camera. I might look at a higher res compact over the next few months though, or maybe some post production software so's I can tweak the pics on the putor.

  42. It must be like permanently walking round with your ass hanging out of your trousers! It has to be the toughest gig in the world being English though.......because whatever country you visit you know they all fucking hate you. And then when you're back in England all the English hate each other! Bob drew the short straw there for sure......even The Leg is made more welcome in places than he is.
