Away down to Lamorna

Saul

Recommended Posts

Needed to get out for a bimble to clear my head so I headed west down to Lamorna Cove, like in the song.    Only about 60 miles but I chose to go down the coast via Falmouth, Helston and then Penzance.    Still packed out down here.   Newly Wed and nearly Dead season now the Kids are back to school.
Got the full bondage gear on my bike, well panniers and shoes at least. 🤣

After Lamorna I traveled back through St Buryan to St Just.    Where I happened on a rally of classic bikes.

Then rode back through Trencom to St Ives.

I know it caught my Eye.  I have a video of some of them leaving, the sound was glorious.  I will see if I can post a link on here.

Is easy to see why everyone wants to move to Cornwall isn’t it, you’ll need to stop posting pretty stuff like that, you’ll drive the house prices up even further 😂

Really not sure that is possible 🤣

Are house prices high there Saul?

Locals getting priced out of the area they were born n have lived all their lives is a very hot topic for Cornwall.

Kirsty Allsop n other ‘relocation’ type programmes, Rick Stein, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and a load of Hollywood A listers haven’t helped the situation.

It's happening all over the south, we had to move up north to be able to afford to move out of my parents, though the north is fast getting more expensive

You wouldn't believe it mate honestly gone completely nuts.

Good example in the village that my Mrs comes from.   Old run down cottage on the outskirts of the village.  Knocked down and two large boxy wood covered monstrosities built on the plot.  Both sold for 1.2 million each within days.  Nice comfy 3 bd places but nothing outside apart from some parking and a small green patch.  In Fowey, where I live, ex local authority houses are fetching £300,000.   Sounds all well and good, my place is paid for, but my kids have very little chance of making a life here.  Rents running £1000 to £1600 a month.  I can see the town becoming a giant Air B&B in the next 10 years.  It's no wonder the businesses down here struggle to find staff, nobody of working age can afford to live here and those that can' aren't gonna work for minimum wages.

Bloody hell......that figure equates to €350K.

And for that in Spain you could get something like THIS!

I know mate it is crazy, if I had ,my way I would sell up and move to Ireland or somewhere similar but the Mrs won't go.  That comment is only slightly tongue in cheek, working class life in Britain is pretty difficult nowadays.  And I am fortunate that I got my place before things went completely nuts.

It also repeatedly shows the same limited photos over and over, meaning the bedrooms and bathrooms are shite.

No.....it means that if you include more than 10 pics per property then Kyero prices get a lot higher.
