Halo update

Well I fitted the electrical connectors and fired up the halo on the new headlight, I also modified the mount so the existing headlight rim fits better.

These were the spade connectors on the headlight and the bike.DSCF0126.thumb.JPG.f64f17be686d232ca1cc221ed580f412.JPG

Looks like dentist lights

Good to see an example, did you post that for Ren? Let's face it, he has never seen the inside of a dentists office.

Nice work Ian, even though your thread has diverged onto the subject of Phil's teeth :classic_laugh:

I think the headlight looks ace, I've used those type of waterproof connectors on lots of bikes, they're very good if a little fiddly to work with.

If you have the right tools it is straight forward, don't get the ratchet style crimpers, the best are the Engineer Precision made in Japan but there are other decent ones as well. I generally use the Engineer Precision crimper for the wire terminals then a generic type for the larger sleeve crimp.

I forgot to ask, is it legal and will it pass an MOT ?  I'm asking as the LED unit on my DR650 definitely isn't .

Yes it is legal, what is the issue with the DR? It is a led bulb conversion in a halogen headlight?

No it's a sealed unit from USA, so no dipped beam to the left.  It's no biggie as it takes about 15 mins to swap back to the original at MOT time.

I love it as when I ride home from work (country lanes, no street lighting) it's bloody ace,  the O/E Suzuki headlight is pathetic.

If it dips to the middle it is legal, it is only a problem if it dips to the right.
