Interesting review of the Goldstar. I like the Goldstar but think the customer service side of things needs to be sorted. I saw and heard one in the flesh at a bike night a few weeks ago and liked it. Also sat on one in a the showroom at Thors, but it wouldn't be a daily for me until the product matures a bit.

Beautiful R90s

Quite enjoying his latest adventure. Do get the feeling he is flying by the seat of his pants though.

That CBX only had 8,000 miles on it, like new. I liked the 400/4 and that had covered 86,000. Obviously rebuilt, probably more than once but cute little thing all the same. I liked the Trans Alp but not sure about that colour, now a white one would be better.

I know hideous thing but the owner was singing its praises. Not my thing at all but interesting.

Popped up to Damerells for the bike night tonight. Took photos of what interested me. Probably 100 bikes or so. Lots of interesting stuff as always.

Went up to Bude bike night with my mate who doesn’t ride tonight. Probably about 100 bikes there but only took photos of what caught my eye.

He is up to 337 miles now. I have done close to that this week.

Out and about with my mate today for a 67 mile bimble. Started at Damerells then went to Nansladen near Newquay onto Wadebridge, Bodmin, Lanivet then back to Luxulyan where my mate lives. At Damerells a chap we both knew from the past rocked up on a 1100 Rebel, after some chat we invited him to join us on the run. When we got back to my mates chap turned up on a Victory Hammer to but some handle bars my mate had on FB marketplace. He had no way to carry them so he zip tied them to his current handlebars. His Mrs had a 500 Rebel that she had customised (Ruined) along a Mad Max theme she told us. 2015 SR500 with 1500 miles on it, I liked that. Me and the 1100 owner we picked up. I did like that Rebel, never thought I would say it about a cruiser but it was a nice bike. I wish my mate would get a phone with a decent camera.

Dunno but she holds onto the perch pretty well.

Its true, very flexible motor for a 500cc twin. Couple of times today it rolled on from 40 mph with no fuss at all just pulled away cleanly. Just so easy to live with, I have never had a bike quite like it before. Suppose it helps that it is relatively new but apart from chain lube and fuel I haven't had to touch mine in the first 1300 miles. I look at other bikes all the time but wouldn't trade the CB, might get it a friend and I swore I wouldn't do that.

Went on a bimble to Colin Flashman Motorcycles near Gunnislake in the Tamar Valley this afternoon. Stunning day to be out there. I went to Flashmans on the recommendation of a work mate who praises them very highly. Came across as bleddy nice people, very busy to which is normally a good sign. Proper old school bike shop, I loved it. Several bikes caught my eye but didn’t take to many photos but did find out that the owners cousin married my cousin thirty years ago . There is a reason we all have webbed feet . I left Flashmans and ventured across the Tamar into Devonshire and rode on to Tavistock, a lovely scenic old market town. Should have stopped and took some photos I thought after I was 10 miles down the road After I left Tavistock I popped over to Kitt Hill which was near for a mooch. Today you could see Plymouth Sound, Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and miles of stunning countryside. Great place. On the way back I popped into Trago Mills Liskeard to get some summer gloves. Some where during the day I managed to knock one of my panniers lose. Reckon I kicked it and it sagged onto the exhaust. FFS it’s fucked. Anyway pissed off and made the decision I can either look at it and be sad or buy a new one and move on Expensive lesson. New one winging its way from Germany as I write this. Filled up on the way back today and saw I did the whole trip in less than a gallon of fuel. .

Because my daughter is adopted there is funding available from the original adoption agency once we have a exhausted all routes with local agencies. Currently doing a bullshit online zoom parenting course as part of that process. Plenty of scope for a rant but this is not the place.

Going through something very similar with my 15 year old daughter. Not real help on the horizon in any sort of acceptable timeframe. Stuff is happening but it will be years before she gets the answers she is looking for.

I don’t know mate if it was it came in the early 1990’s. Were US imports a thing back then? Of course you noticed the rusty nut

Well got to see my mates new to him bike today. I have got to say I am quite impressed. It needs some love but he has fixed the oil leak and it sounds as sweet as a nut. Just needs some cosmetic fettling and it is ready to go. He has also got the ad the seller bought the bike from in 1998 from Damerells. It came with a box full of spares as well.

I keep my records on an app called CarIQ on my phone obviously. Got different screens for fuel, servicing and other expenses. I quite like the app it feeds my inner geek.
