I must admit to being a bit competitive with my mate who has bought a newer bike in the same colour, so I have been cleaning it up a fair bit to look better than his. Childish I know but it keeps me entertained. Can you get a rebuild kit for Mandis slave? I did for my old Triumph and it worked a treat.

Out mooching about on old faithful. Up Liskeard for a coffee at Checkered Flag, who are moving apparently, then a chemist run for my older daughter. Sometimes 50 miles solo is just what you need

Spent the morning sorting Shadows bike. New JT chain and sprockets and front brake pads. Took longer cleaning everything than actually fitting the parts. Her response was thanks Dad can you lend me £120 to fix my phone. It never ends . Also noticed she has hit 18,000 miles in 2 years. She is talking about taking her A2 in November but we shall see.

My mate Martyn loves his V85TT. It's his go to bike when we go out for our group rides and he has 4 other bikes to choose from. Harley SlideHideGlide thing, New Kawasaki Z900RS, Siebenrock 1000cc converted R80 and a K75s. With an exception I think he has pretty good taste in bikes. Martyn was looking at a Mandello before he got the Kawasaki. We have been taking the piss out of Steve given that he doesn't seem to want to think for himself when it comes to bike choice. Copying me with the CBF600 and Martyn with the Guzzi. Also on Steve's shortlist was a Triumph 900 Scrambler like Andy and a CB750 Hornet like mine. Suppose there is sense to Steve's thinking he has bought bikes that have shown themselves to be reliable and fit for our groups type of riding but even so there are so many good interesting bikes out there to choose from. There were several really nice options in the Kawasaki showroom in his price range. His money and his decision I suppose. I liked the Gold R1250RS in the showroom.

Rode down to Lanner this morning with my mate Steve who obviously has money burning a hole in his pocket. He only bought his CBF about three weeks ago, last Friday he impulse bought a Guzzi V85 TT. Very nice it is to. Done 9,000 miles. Some nice bikes out the back. Also loads of nice stuff in the show room. Pricing wasn’t bad either. Especially liked this new all black Z900RS. Home made drain cover made me smile. On the way home popped into Dameralls for a cup of tea as we were riding past. Did about 90 miles bimbling about. Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday

Off down to Lanner Kawasaki (Cornwall Kawasaki Centre) in a minute, with my demented mate Steve. Has his eye on a Guzzi V85TT down there. Pictures later I expect.

There are a couple of MV's that frequent the bike nights around here and they both sound rough as rats which apparently is normal for them. I wouldn't ride anything that sounded like that same with the Ducs and their dry clutches, I am sure that are wonderful bikes on the move but I just couldn't bear that clattering.

Met my mate Steve today as he was having his Enfield MoTed and I was having Shadows CBF MoTed right after. Chap turned up on this interesting Cafe Racer type thing. Sounded awesome. So both bike with fresh MoT’s we took the Cb125F back up where I picked up my CBF. We headed for Dameralls to see the new Honda CB1000F. Very nice indeed although I would want real clocks. Loads there today

I got to ride two new Nortons today. Manx R and the Atlas. Good day out

AA at the moment, my car is 24 years old and I home service plus one of my bikes is 28 and another is 19. I used it last year when I put diesel in my CBF and the chap who came out was as good as gold. The office not so much. I’m probably going to change depending on what sort of cover I can get.
