Go Linux Mint, you won't look back and it's free. Mind you I have been Mac OS for 2 years and I don't think about operating systems any more the Puter box or lappy just work now. Obviously I bought new hardware.

Thanks to both of you thats the real world sort of advice I was looking for. It was more of a random thought as I get plenty of time at work for that sort of thing anyway. Couple of my clinicians don't mind me streaming my music to the car system when we are out. I will give it a miss as I am not looking at crossing continents, my average commute is about 45 mins, shortest about 20 mins and longest 75 mins.

It came to mind on Tuesday as I had a shift in Stratton Hospital near Bude, I was going to take the bike, but given the colour of the sky and that fact that it is a 1.25 hour trip I took my van. It turned out to be a wise decision as it the sky turned black with torrential rain and gail force winds, not really biking weather. And to top it off I got the the Hospital to start my shift only to find I had no clinician for the shift so got sent home. Bit of a bind but I didn't moan as I got my 12 hours pay for driving to Bude and back, I was home in bed by 10 pm.

I know twatish title but I do have a serious question about getting some sounds piped into my full face lid. I regularly listen to a podcast or some music on my commute to work but now I have switched to two wheels not so much. Just wondering what I can do to listen to the same while riding. I have some ear pods but they are a faff to use. I have seen that you can get a bluetooth set of speakers to fit in the helmet. Has anyone done this or have some experience to share before I spend money on the wrong thing.

Day off today and I saw there was a break in the weather this morning so I thought a bimble on the Himalayan was on the cards. I dropped into Parbados on the way to get a photo on the beach as Xtreme suggested then carried on over to the North Coast, as my inspiration for the ride was to copy a Freddie Dobbs video on Youtube and visit Project 83. Locally it is sometimes a bit difficult to choose a destination for a quick ride. Anyway I got to Newquay and it is still as charmless as it has ever been. Sorry if you are a resident but I have never liked the place, to much arcade, public vomiting and cheap tat for my liking. Anyway enough of my old fart prejudice once I was in Newquay I fired up the Tripper nav thing on the Himalayan to find Wesley Yard, and Project 83. After two trips around the one way system I managed to actually follow the directions to Project 83, I will confess that it was user error and not the fault of the Tripper that took me around Newquay twice. Project 83, if you haven't seen the Freddie Dobbs video is a sort of posh boutique type of Biker Cafe and riding gear shop. Very nice place to be fair but quite spendy, the first pair of gloves I looked at were £239. What they had for sale appeared to very good quality but my pocket is more comfortable in a charity shop. I had a coffee, which was only £2.50 and lovely, read a magazine which funnily enough had a RE Interceptor in it that had been converted into a 650 Himalayan by Cooperbs motorcycles. I would like that if I had the cash. Then headed home. I must say that I liked Project 83 and if you are ever near Newquay, Cornwall it is worth a diversion to visit the place. I asked the owner about Freddie and said it wasn't planned and he just turned up, but the visit and Youtube video had been very good for his business. I hope he continues to do well as it is a classy welcoming place and a great destination for a ride out. 50 miles done and home before the rain.

My Oldest daughter Kady is studying Equine and stable management in her second year. Part of the course is that she spends every 3rd week working in and running Duchy Colleges stables and livery yard. I don't exactly know what it's all about. I have been told but when I hear horse I sort of switch off. I have a horse mad wife and two daughters that are probably worse. Personally I am not keen on the bleddy things and have as little to do with them as possible. What I am going to down at Pentewan is locally known as a Pub Shout. Basically a sing along, I said shanty evening so as not to have to explain, there will be shanties, Cornish songs, folk, maybe even some choir harmony, show tunes what ever anybody wants to do really as long as it sounds good. Normally pretty reasonable quality singing, calling it a Shout is misleading but it is the term used. Happens a lot down here, I was up the local rugby club singing last night as they are trying to get a regular shout going, and as an old player and choir member I have been called along to help out.

I am normally fooked come Monday morning but a good nights sleep Monday night and I am back on track, then I am free until the next Friday.

I don't mind so much, would rather not work nights but I do enjoy my job. If I could get something normal I would but everything in the current job market isn't very attractive.

Well you did ask Friday Shanty singing night down at The Ship Inn, Pentewan tonight, then off to work at Bodmin Hospital on the Urgent Care Car East at 23:00, which sounds fancy but it's not really. We do get to be out most of the night and are in proximity to Maccy's Fraddon that gives us free coffee. Saturday Finish at 08:00, hopefully, then home to sleep, back on shift at 22:00 on Urgent Care Car East rinse and repeat Sunday Finish at 08:00 home to sleep, then get my daughter up to Stoke Climsland for 18:00 to start her residential week at Duchy College, then home. Back to work at 22:00 to 08:00 at Launceston Hospital driving Launceston Area Car. Nothing very exciting, I get to commute on my bike Saturday and Sunday.

They do, they have had them for years. I remember the naked one from the time they were at Whitemoor.

Yes without doubt the original is a work of art. But if you or I did own one it wouldn't get ridden much for various reasons, if you had a new one though it would be silly not to ride it

It is nice, not sure I like the radiator, but on the whole a lovely looking bit of kit.

They always have decent stock there, I didn't snap the half of it just what interested me. They did have a couple of Africa twins that looked great but I couldn't have one so they don't hold my interest much. They had a Kawasaki W800 there but I was disappointed with it in the flesh, as that is my sort of bike normally. I did like the R Nine T though I could see myself on that if I had a spare 9K hanging around and a garage to put it in. Top Boxes, Meh, water off a ducks back mate

Had a productive morning, won't mention the house work part least you see the thumb print, after that got the top box fitted to the Himalayan. I am not sure if I can live with it yet, fits fine just part of me sees it as a hideous carbuncle rather than useful storage. Price was obviously right as I bought it 12 years ago and it wasn't a premium purchase (read cheapest I could find) back then. Then went out for a bimble up To Damerells to look at the pretty shiny. I am guessing they have just had a RE delivery as there was loads in the showroom. I saw a really lovely Beemer that tickled my fancy plus a new Z900 that wasn't too shabby. Saw a nice looking Harley as well but how many letter do you need to describe it . To lovely old CBX's on display there although well up out of reach.
