  1. Talking to my mate about the ride yesterday, he was grinning like a Cheshire cat went I was going on about how good his Commando sounded riding through Camalfords narrow streets. You think he would be used to it now he has had the bloody thing 39 years and covered 51,000 miles with it. I was also taking the piss up there as I reckon he develops Norton Vibration finger struggling to get sugar in his tea. Lovely bike though.
  2. Maybe so but it wasn't the only reason I didn't buy it, fuel economy and running costs tyres and such were important factors in the decision as my bikes primary purpose is commuting as well as local bimbles. I won't test ride something unless I am serious about buying it but I never got close to that. I know I am boring but that's the way my head works
  3. Funnily enough I nearly bought one before my CB500, I sat on one at the dealers, and much as I liked it I thought it was a bit to big and unwieldy for everyday bimbling about. Lovely bike though and I would still like one but not for everyday use.
  4. Yeah that CB1100 caught my eye to. Very nice
  5. Rode the 42 miles up to Bude bike night with some mates tonight. Bob with his 1979 Norton Commando, Andy with his Triumph Scrambler and Martin with his Guzzi V85T. About a 100 bikes or so there and about 10 trikes of differing types. A lot of Triumphs.
  6. Got an interview at 11:00am. Fingers and everything else crossed.
  7. Yeah I agree but he won’t. He will stand off and get caught. Don’t want to see it but unless he gets a lot of confidence before the fight I reckon that is the way it will go.
  8. Of course it would, but nostalgia is strong. I know my CB is probably the best bike package I have had but doesn’t stop me hankering after a big old Beamer or smoker. Not going there but fond memories.
  9. It’ll be all over as soon as Wilder lands a right hand. Sad really, don’t want to see that happen to Joshua. He needs to stop.
  10. Yeah that cam chains and transfer cases. I liked the XS1-B. 1973 I think. But if I was going to buy something from that era probably be a big 2 stroke. Maybe a T500 or the like. All dream land I have no intention of going down that black hole.
  11. Yes it is. We are going to Bude bike night tomorrow and he is actually going to ride his Indian Scout. I have never seen the thing move and I have known him years.
  12. I went with my mate today as he is after another bike. Specifically a Yamaha XS 650 US Custom. First one we looked at was dog rough and pissing oil, for £2.5k. Not the right one. The second one was a much better prospect only 16,000 miles really tidy original Damerells bike owned by a retired Damerells mechanic. That was spot on but £4k. If it was my money that would have been the one but my mate was undecided. The same chap also had a XS1100 with 300 miles on it. An XS750, an XS1-B and a 1981 DT175. All immaculate and for sale from his own collection. Wish I could have got some photos to show but the chap wasn’t keen to have them shared around so I respected his wishes. Anyway after that we headed to Damerells for a cuppa and sandwich. I got chatting to a chap who has just ordered a new Yellow Hornet today for August delivery. Anyway Damerells was low on stock but it is silly season. The line of sold bikes was long. Saw a nice Harris Yamaha outside Damerells, believe it had a R1 motor but not entirely sure. I have also come to the conclusion that Damerells is a sort of day care centre for silly old fuckers with too much time on their hands And before anyone says I do resemble that remark and my mate is 8 years my senior
  13. I know it's real but nobody cares though, apart from royalists who can swear if they want. Certainly not headline material to my mind, just the gutter press sewing division between those that will and the those that "Hate Britain" and won't as always. I think they are evil and manipulative in the games they play. Rant over
  14. Yeah but you don't want to be believing in that rag. They were trying to peddle the idea that Russia was planning to invade Britain last week.
  15. I do like A K75. Cool bike. I remember test riding one years ago. Wish I bought it but I was lured away by a K100RS. The 75 would have been a much better fir for me with hindsight.
  16. Nah it wasn’t Fred, Twas gold paint complete with brush strokes in it.
  17. Not sure it’s a cool bike but I did think someone should have taken the gold paint away from this fella before he got near the bike. The photo doesn’t do his vandalism justice but I felt a bit self conscious taking more pictures of the hideous thing.
  18. My Honda is not a bummer
  19. Yep and battery out the smoke alarm
  20. Happy Birthday Pete. 69 I do hope I live that long
  21. Worky worky this weekend. Got Monday off Actually sitting outside a house in Bude as I write this. GP is in doing her magic.
  22. I no medic I just work with them, but my understanding is that we do have a level of protection from the vaccines and having had Covid in the past. Really you need Slowleys expertise for a proper answer. I wouldn’t worry to much just carry on being careful, as we have been over the last 3 years.
  23. Interesting company while I went to the bank this morning. Not a massive HD fan but I did like that Sportster. All blacked out engine cases and wheels, no shiny suits it. The 125 rider was drooling all over it.
