Not by the EU, I think it goes back to the fifties or sixties when a UN related conference tried to get a lot of countries around the world to use similar traffic signs. I imagine not so much the letters saying "stop" but the shape and colors of the signs. Yes, just looked it up. Viena in 1969, on a UN conference. They have trouble enough with the way you are supposed to go around roundabouts or use the correct lane on the road, if Europe starts putting on different words on traffic signs it would be carnage. Buses full with children and nuns would crash, do you want that?

Anything planed for summer in mountains and dirtroads that a GS could get up to as well? Just asking... I have two plans, Morocco for September/October and a bigger secret one for earlier, both depending of covid allowing me to go. Both involve exiting Europe so I might be hoping for more than possible. I am quite worried this whole pandemic is a cabal conjuring to mess up my travel plans
