You’ll love the Azores and Madeira!
-
I don’t mind if you submit a picture taken on the last two or three days of the previous months, when the submission for that period was already closed. It’s a lame move, though. Up to you.

I meant you don’t speak Portuguese so you wouldn’t know the difference. Are you Welsh? I thought Cornwall was in England?
-
I have, but only as a young teenager with my parents. It is a pretty cool place, some of those Islands have less humans than cows and nature really is something over there. You’ll be in the middle of the Atlantic, it’s a real ocean frontier. Their accent is 3 times different to any continental Portuguese than the thickest Scottish accent is to London English. Sounds like a different language, but being English you won’t notice and it’ll sound just as weird

I don't know anyone personally that uses a helmet like that.

Also, I'm hoping my bike keeps itself together. That would help

That's why it's important for me to try and keep it going. It is my social media, but Pete had such pride and passion for what he provided for free to most users here that it is in his name that we should try and keep it going. You stepping up is what guarantees it continues working from a technical point of view, so thank you for that, we'd all show up one night to find the pub's doors closed if not for you. Personally, I didn't really care for 2024, work, motorcycling, family, etc, and am happy it's over even though a change of year is just our own imagination providing us with a clean slate. I hope to make it back to Morocco in 2025, with hopefully a trip to Belgium / Germany as well, although I see that one as a bonus. For now all is very much uncertain for me. The only contribution I can promise is that for any trip there's a ride report, unfortunately we don't have many of those and that's a big thing in a motorcycle forum. I have tried to keep some movement with BOTM but it feels like the mood is changing for that too, and the last thing I want is to contribute to a bad vibe.

It feels almost mandatory, Saul.

You would be better off commenting on you submitting the same picture as last year. A word?
-
There was s submission thread… 2024…
-
He likes Jeeps and Harleys and wears red pants! He's a twat.
-
mine, when he submits pictures
-
We'll see on a month to month basis, depending on the mood.
-
Anyway, let that be for now and just vote for the pictures available now.
-
That what Ren did too, except in this case it was not even from the same year
-
He is a long time friend of Sofia’s. They met when he instructed on a Nurburgring course she attended long ago.
-
Only from your stories on here
-
He can bitch like a young Karen, though.
-
Spent the weekend showing a foreign friend around this area here. He's a Nurburgring instructor, British living in Belgium for many years, and a friend of Sofia's from many years ago. I loved his bike, gorgeous thing, sounds great, and it's 200hp!!!

Bellow you´ll find 2023's BOTY picture submissions thread: It wasn't just me that did something exactly the same as in December 2023, you might want to check @Renegade's picture, as that was the exact same one as well. Phil, you old cheating More than @Renegade's cheating, what saddens me is that last year the exact same effort resulted in 15 submissions. This year we lost Pete, Marcel is off stalking somewhere, but everyone else is still a member.

Whoever felt like debating should have provided an insight into how they thought it should be done beforehand, you could have then been timely told "thank you for the suggestion". Tantrums don't work except to ruin the forum's mood. This year we had less months of BOTM than usual because we were not be able to have control of the forum's picture for two months. On top of that @boboneleg was on too good form and as such he won 4 of this years BOTM, and Pete won 2 (I hope you don´t come bitching about breaching the rules on that one). Having everyone able to submit a picture of their own bike taken in the whole 12 months was an effort to allow people to participate and make an event out of it. Nothing prevented you from submitting a previously BOTM winner picture as long as it was in 2024, there was enough time for that on the correct thread, if you didn't win BOTM this year you could also try other pictures and give that a try. Now, looking at the rules, as they seem to be so oppressive: - One picture per member, because otherwise we would have more submissions than people voting. - Horizontal pictures are mandatory, and it's pretty obvious why as that is how they fit the webpage. - The time of the picture is taken, also seems obvious. - The one rule you are arguing about is that you own the bike during the contest. Pete insisted on that, it makes sense to me and I agree with it, so deal with it. In @Renegade's case, I replied in the submition thread about it not being his bike anymore. And it's not a horizontal picture either, it originally got through to BOTM because I chopped it to make it fit, I am less inclined to oblige someone that suddenly wakes up and takes a demanding position like they run the place. This BOTY is staying like it is now, I'll think of something in 2025 and then maybe change it to what it was before, or not. Suggestions are welcomed, provided they come in time and that you don't throw a tantrum in case they get refused. If BOTM becomes this source of bickering we might as well end it, life is tough enough without dealing with adult men throwing tantrums on the internet. If you wish to take on running BOTM and BOTY, and feel like you might be an improvement, send a PM to @Buckster and suggest it. I'm happy with whatever he chooses, and I'm sure he's very much looking forward to all the interested people announcing themselves. At the end of the day, you can get in and enjoy it by being a positive influence and keep this thing going, or ignore it and watch it fade. I would rather it kept going but it's up to you.

There is none.

This is bike of the year. It says so in the title.
