  1. Nice work with the blue lines there!
  2. I am all for Sofia winning, having voted for her, but I don't get what's all this talk about my ass today
  3. It really needs a four cylinder, though. On the other hand, it's really nice that it's got round brake discs ...
  4. Having a cardboard box strapped to the back to carry provisions while on the road does not equal a big ugly top box
  5. I realize this link is blocked, but I think you can see it on youtube if you click the link. It's the last three laps of the Aragon GP this year, and the great battle in which Marc Marquez tries to repeatedly pass Pecco Bagnaia only to be passed back by Pecco. The fun thing about this clip is that the commentary alternates between the enthusiastic but neutral English oficial MotoGP world transmission, to the very analytical French, to someone speaking Spanish, to the Italians in which one of them is absolutely loosing his shit over Pecco holding his own!
  6. That would be a literal translation but not how you would read it in Portuguese
  7. A few years ago, my last name is Rocha, means Rock. The sign says Strong Rock
  8. Portugal, not usually being a country known for it's effectiveness in anything except Ronaldo kicking in football goals, has pulled something amazing: https://ourworldindata.org/covid-vaccinations It's a testament to our military who have always come through when called upon, but at the same time I'm waiting for the coin to drop
  9. Today it's 8.64 million people fully vaccinated, total population living in Portugal is 10.35 million, so including every portuguese citizen living here, I don't know if it does include foreigners, but I do know most foreigners living here have been vaccinated according to their age group without problems. 95000 people are late to show up for their second vaccine and are holding back reaching the 85%, twats!
  10. Within a week it is estimated Portugal will have 85% of it’s population fully vaccinated, the Admiral in charge has therefore quit the task force after changing from his camouflage to the navy’s whites. Dude is a class act!
  11. Are you calling my seat big or small
  12. I'll vote for Sofia, I think that bike looks mean with those crash bars on. I do like the sunset picture though.
  13. I think you will all be swimming in money, big boobs and MV Agustas in a couple of years, once all that money from the US, India, Australia thing starts flowing through the UK. This is nothing but a hiccup in turning the empire back on.
  14. I think one reality that evades people living in countries that are desirable by foreign workers, is that they think those workers want to move there forever, in fact most people just plan on working hard and saving hard for a few years, and then make it back home with some cash in their pocket to allow them to start a business or whatever. A study was made in the US about immigrants from Mexico and more southern countries, that you would get less of a population of illegals if you opened the borders and allowed people to come in and out as they needed and as the work market demanded them, this would allow them to return home for periods instead of fearing to be locked out. Very few Portuguese, Greeks, Italians, Spaniards, Moroccans, etc, really want to go to the UK, Germany, Netherlands, to make a life and stay there forever, most would miss their reality too much, their plan is usually to come back. The value those temporary workers provide to a country's economy is huge. Of course nobody wants to go back to an unsafe war zone but that's another issue.
  15. Two or three years ago there was a strike here too, for HGV drivers of dangerous loads, fuel being the most significant. I did have enough fuel on the car to go home and there I had the GS fully fueled, and went on a trip enjoying my 600km autonomy on back roads It did get ugly, once planes started getting grounded for having no fuel and the army started doing the minimum service transport some people got really agitated, but Portugal being Portugal all was well after a couple of days
  16. Well, if I can provide an external view: It is known that England is pretty congested, but at the same time it is also known that wages are a lot higher than in "poorer" countries, your cars are newer, you are perceived as a culture of consumerism and that entices people who come from places where they simply have no money after going through monthly basic living expenses to try and make it there. I remember minimum wage being less than 500€/month in Portugal, today it's 665€/month. If you work a full job to come home and pay groceries and bills and be skint in two weeks, suddenly a congested island seems pretty good as people are picturing being in traffic sitting inside a brand new BMW. Reality for most of those immigrants might not be what they expect, but that's what they're going after. I know several people who went to the UK to work a few years ago, @Sofia being one of them with a skillset, while others go hoping for whatever comes their way. It is not easy adapting from south Europe to the UK or any other "northern" country but it does turn out great for lots of people compared to what they had back home. This is my perspective, and I'm doing good in a European country. Factor in coming from an Eastern European ethnic cleansing ex-war ruin, or borderline civil war African country, and that congested plague central is bliss once you have a full stomach everyday while being able to send a little money home at the end of the month.
  17. The UK is a superpower again, your fuel shortages have made it to portuguese news broadcasting! According to my tv you're solving this by issuing visas to foreign truck drivers. Smart, you understood what caused the issue and are now doing the opposite to fix it, we should all have such humble governments. Maybe next will be a list of unwanted or difficult jobs being sent to other countries: please send 300 bricklayers, 140 garbage men, 500 cheap hospice nurses, 10000 fruit pickers, 3 cheap certified nuclear scientists, etc, I could see that working...
  18. I have to say, with that weather a dry comfy van doesn't sound so bad ...
  19. Surfer's paradise here, in several coastal towns now that the September tides are bringing in the proper big waves, people arriving from all over by plane and car, what can go wrong?
  20. a Wad of cash and you don't even need to point here, shit will just keep on coming till it runs out Welcome, Septic!
  21. From October 1st all covid measurements will cease inside Portugal, normal everything. Let’s see how it goes.
