  1. You know they will, and considering the rain you've got over the next few days...
  2. The guy at the Portuguese dealer says Honda call that a light bar, not a crash bar. Honestly, looking at it in person I think some of the lower engine only bars they have are plenty enough for a tumble offroad. I wouldn't bother with the ugly ones that go in front of the bike. The exhaust being that low isn't the worse part, there's a sump going almost as low as that on the other side of the exhaust, that would be the primary source of bother, I would say a nice aftermarket engine protection bar and a cover will be fine enough for this bike though, there will be plenty, plus it's a touring bike with non pavement ability, not an enduro bike. I've got a gripe with them having the engine made in China though, for that alone I would rather buy a used pre-lcd Africa Twin with the Japanese engine for myself, if I ever were to buy a Honda, even if it ends up being more money than a new one of these.
  3. It wouldn't if you come from a small country. Here you have to stop before the next corner to look at the scenery.
  4. The hypocrisy of brands being involved in these "charity" projects bewilders me. Just write a fucking cheque to whatever charity it is and proclaim moral superiority instead of getting a cheap bike, hiring an artist to appeal to the hipsters, and then using that as publicity to present an urban image. At the end the hospital will receive half of whatever was spent on the whole shitshow. Unless someone actually forks up proper hospital making money for that thing, in that case viva Ducati.
  5. The scenery is great, but what gets me is that it goes on for 60 miles.
  6. Yes, I really rely on mine and it's been good so far.
  7. I'm quite curious about someone else other than me doing a ride report on Portugal, more so after coming from Spain. You twats can wait until the part where the bike goes kaput.
  8. Fucks sake, give it up already, salt on the wound you are. Are you on commission from Honda?
  9. It's "croquetas", they fry a similar thing to a thick béchamel sauce. In Portugal, "croquetes" are similarly fried meat balls, just one of the many things in which we are vastly superior.
  10. How is the range calculation on that thing?

    Van action ...

People overestimate what a big trip means to a vehicle. Going from Portugal to Germany and back is 5000km, any vehicle can do that. It's way more tortuous to do a third of that distance sat in a garage and going for coffee one every 6 sundays over 5 years.
  12. Nothing against the dude, but it's like I thought, after Itchy Boots they'll all follow. Next winter they'll be serving full english breakfasts in the ferry
  13. You did the last 20 miles at 40mph didn’t you?
  14. Is this one half way from transforming from a camaro into a giant extra terrestrial robot?
  15. New one looks Chinese! Which is good, they can make things the old planet killing way, quality!
  16. I was tld today that Portuguese BMW dealers are also taking forever to get parts. My guy has a k1600 waiting for a thermostat for 3 weeks, and there’s an almost new R1200 at the main dealer waiting for a seal for two months. Don’t know why they need a seal to help fix the bike but that’s bmw.
  17. No, I mean 4c with the sun shining is a lot less grim than 4c with overcast or rain.
  18. I love the TKC70, best road tire I had and properly confidence inspiring for going fast. The only thing that is different with the Rocks version is that there is no continuous strip along the centre of the rear tire, to improve traction a little. It’s quite a lot softer and less rugged for rocks than the Mitas though, and I found them quite less confidence inspiring off tarmac. was wondering if I would fit a set of those today, somehow fitting another set of Mitas to take them out with only a few thousand to then put another set for the trip sounds wrong
  19. Seville is a no go if you don’t like heat, it’s probably the hottest city in Spain, I’ve ridden through there in October well into the night at over 30°C.
  20. Is it at least sunny? Makes all the difference in those temperatures.
  21. Thoughts on those tires so far, Bob?
