Mostly small capacity, cheap and poor quality that were no match or comparison to the mainstream Japanese bikes but this is not the case now. The main Chinese outfits seem to be building better quality bikes that are intended to compete with the more expensive Japanese equivalents such as the CB500X…………just saying.

How’s that possible if they are an official KTM dealer? I would have thought they couldn’t pick and choose what they sold?
-
Early days yet but don’t be so sure they won’t make it.

I’ve no idea where that article came from but I can tell you this; several of my mates in the UK have had or still have the 790 and they absolutely batter them all over the place on road and across tough terrain and they’ve not had any major problems with them. I also know a KTM dealer in the UK and he’s also not had any major problems with bikes he’s sold. I’d tend to believe feedback from real people I know who actually use the bike as intended. The bottom line is that CFMoto are new to the market compared to the established Japanese and European brands and so they are regularly disregarded out of hand. The same happened when the Japanese started to infiltrate the bike scene in the 1960’s and look where they are now.

Here we go ………why the scepticism? They already build KTM engines for their 790 and no one seems to complain about those! You need to take those blinkers off and at least wait until it’s actually being sold and tested before casting doubts over its reliability. Depending on price I’d be very tempted.

It has been nearly 10 months since my last proper ride

Always good to get back on two wheels after a long break and here’s hoping all your troubles are behind you. Whereabouts are you based as Castalla isn’t a million miles from me (based down near Mazarron, Murcia)? -
Yep I’ve heard about the use of cannabis oil, we’re lucky I guess as she’s doing okay without any medication but obviously if things get worse we’ll have to go down the medication route.

She’s a hefty bugger that’s for sure but we absolutely do our best not to over feed her and our other dog is as fit a flea.
-
This is her right now, absolutely fine and you’d never know there had been anything wrong. She’s just told off a couple of ladies that were out for their morning walk.

Doesn’t bear thinking about

The vets told us to just make sure she can’t harm herself while she’s fitting and to remain calm ourselves which I am able to do but my wife finds it difficult. She gets a bit anxious and that’s not helpful. Because the fits are pretty much under control most of the time they didn’t want to put her on medication (the dog, not my wife ).

Well an early start for us today at about 3.30am…………our Labrador suffers from seizures and although it’s been just over two years since she’s had a full-on seizure (mostly she just gets a bit wobbly for 20 mins or so) she had one today. Poor thing looses all control for about five mins and the noise is horrendous. She’s recovered now and is flat out snoring. Me and the missus are wide awake drinking coffee. It’s going to be a long, long day!

I bet you’re more concerned than Saul?

Nah, a bit breezy but no problem

Had a couple of hours out on the bike this morning, stayed local and made the most of the fabulous roads along the coast and up and over the mountains. Having made a few tweeks to the bike for my trip I thought I’d better check it was okay…….no dramas.

You tell him dad

No specific plans this weekend, still being a good boy and getting jobs done but probably take the bike for a spin on Sunday. No idea where, might just see on the day.

No worries for man of your calibre

For all of you with an open mind and not entrenched in your brand loyalty or Western snobbery, here’s the new Himalayan 450. The spec sheet is definitely an improvement over the old model and have to say I think it’s an improvement in looks too. Im interested.
