I think this will be the Dacia,s last MOT, rear suspension component, and rear axle are in his words, very rusted, exhaust on its last legs too, it has served me well, passed the last 9 MOT,s without much bother, it is getting to that age where more components are reaching end of life and need replacing...........the clutch is still slipping (a little) too.

£600÷....... more if they have to order more parts for the rear brakes, as he said "We won't know until we get inside the rear drums".

Took the Dacia back to the garage for the repairs to the MOT failure,s, it will (in my opinion) be a expensive day or 2. Hope me or my wife don't shuffle off, had to raid the burial fund to pay for the repairs...

Well the disc pads did not turn up from Amazon .... said...... Claim your refund here.............needed the pads for scoots MOT next week, better cancel the MOT....Bugger!.

The driver was short, fat and had no hair (who am I to talk ) and he had a bad attitude too, that may be the norm for bus drivers.. But can you blame them

After this trip I can see why no one uses the buses around here......

Iam going to use my bus pass for the 1st time ever tomorrow, we are taking our granddaughter into town, it will pass a hour or 2.

We are childminding all week... ...and we are stuck in the bungalow with car being off the road.....poor kid is bored...... me too.

So much shit to remove to get wheel off......now a cuppa tea and biscuit, then start to reassemble the scoot.

Old yes, Doddery no......motoring/riding is getting too expensive when on a pension, anyway the Dacia only has 1 more year left on the road, then off to the scrappers.

I have thought about having another dog, another West Highland would fit the bill, then I lean over our garden fence to stroke next doors dog. Then I think bugger that, anyway if I got a young dog It would probably out live me.

Doubt that I will be riding/driving for much longer, a couple years I hope.

They are presently fitted to my scoot, front will last for ages (on my paltry annual milage ).....the front tyre still has 5mm on the tread depth.....

There are cheaper tyres available, from brands that I have never heard of though.....Michelin City Grip 2 at £45 sound like a good price....... it is from some outfit in Wales.

Wheel back on the scoot....it was leaking from a bit of corrosion on wheel rim where the tyre bead sits, no leak now, but the tyre is down to 2.5 mm in the centre of the tread, will replace it before the MOT which is at the middle of August......£45 for a new tyre!.... Rip Off.

The sooner the better.

Job for tomorrow, remove scoots rear wheel and try to eliminate the tyres flatulence problem.......how hard can it be? Watch this space!.
