Yep thats why I was grateful they chose Bristol. You're taking what is essentially still a child with minimal life skills, removing them from everything they know, moving them to the other side of the country and saying get on with it! Stressed, lonely, unable to manage your finances or cope with the work, don't be a wimp get on with it. Unsurprisingly many of them have also spent all their money by Christmas and really can't go back.

10k for my youngest for a tiny bedroom and bathroom and sharing a tiny kitchen in-between the two rooms. Was the same with my eldest in the first year and now he's in a house share on the outskirts of Brizzle (Hengrove) which is 8k without bills (Seven of them in one house). I can't see it's sensible for us to chuck anymore rent at anyone. Better to buy somewhere for both of them and rent out a 3rd & maybe a 4th room let some other poor bastard part pay the mortgage and we get the money back out of the house at the end. I just only became mortgage free last month. I really don't want to do it.

Both of mine have had that shock. They are both on demanding courses and the youngest had run himself in the ground trying to party and get through the work. I think Uni's changed the way they approach things a while ago and ride them in the first term expecting half not to come back after Christmas so they don't waste their time and the Uni ends up with successful looking students. One of the state schools round here is now like that, they have A level mocks the end of the very first term and literally throw out anyone who doesnt do well enough- makes their pass stats look good.

Dunno how old she is, just remember she's one of the drain every ounce of life out of them Disney child stars. Borders on child abuse really doesn't it. I liked all the cast, the old boys were a bit wooden, it was a bit of a softy softy frivelous thing and I did run out of patience with it like I seem to with a lot of the Disney stuff. And my god could those men have more surgery or make up on them? I will confess I have watched Shantaram because that is a true story... but mostly I've watched it cos I saw a motorcycle handlebar in the advert

Sounds about right? Edit - Yes thats the one. Sent screwy on the Disney child mill.

I thought it was ok. Was over it before it finally finished. Wotser face sounds like she's permanently tranq'd

As the aesthetics are important to him (ie he's not a fan of the plastic look) I reckon they won't be top of the list. Could imagine Saul talking himself back into BMW!
-
Congrats on that. I think I've been with Mr Slowly 30 years, not sure I'll ask him later on. So is there any second particular second bikes that are leaping out in your direction?
-
I was talking about your next likely suggestion stop after the Strom wasn't a hit. The sort of bike you meet the nicest people on, well until some deserted building rotting carcass chaser bought one.
-
Nah just not some snore fest he's likely to fall asleep riding.. or looking at.. or talking about.
-
Pah is that even a question?
-
Quite a departure from the aesthetic Saul enjoys.
-
Bit of a change there Saul, prior to this you were saying you were done with all that distance riding and powerful bikes, guess the ride report and bimbling about has got to you?! Welcome to a slippery slope
-
Thanks Saul. Some nice looking bikes there. The Himalayan isn't specifically disliked here (apart from by Pete ), it has been a commonly owned bikes by members

When you've started watching a series and a family member see's what you're watching and says "Oh I'd like to watch that" and even though you're quite far into the first hour you go back to the beginning and dutifully sit through the first bit again. Then something happens and viewing ceases for it to end up in a pile of other half watched things you can't finish because apparently you're now watching them with someone else. Screw family TV time, long live individual screens and personalised content
-
Thats great news. Congrats to both of them. My eldest who is home for Christmas announced it was just easier for him to live here and as the landlord had increased their rent by £100 unless he reduced it back down he'd be moving back end of June. Love having my boys home but it's amazing how quickly you get used to not running around after everyone else... looking into buying a place in Bristol

Insomnia. Can't get no sleep.

Have you tried having electrolytes in your last glass of water? Just plain ones. Same as some people retain too much sodium some people retain too little, and for some it's self imposed by concerns about blood pressure and the old (incorrect) advice about drinking at least 4 pints of water a day, the bodies reaction is to get rid of the excess fluid to keep the electrolyte balance correct. Quite a few night time pee'rs find it a good solution. https://eletewater.co.uk -
Aways find myself wondering what they died of when it's deliberately omitted.
-
Yer but old bikes seem to be ok in Brizzle so no excuse not to take your little bundle for a nice lunch
-
Blimey they are some extensive slightly complicated rules they're bringing in. 7 out of 10 cities prohibiting approximately 75% of traffic from city centres from 2023 I've been riding through 2 that where introduced a while ago in Valladolid and Madrid. Granada's on that list as is Motril. Fortunately foreign polluters don't count and our bikes are compliant anyway so no biggy but it's going to be interesting seeing the mass ditching of old cars.

I meant having to pay attention and recast your vote, whatever suits. -

A bit time consuming at this time of year? -
I like the coloured film footage they do now technology’s moved on. When they started doing it it was so clumsily done it ruined the footage but now it make it seem more real. The footage they’ve done that shows people smiling and milling around outside their doors completely oblivious to what’s coming is always chilling.

No chance of sweat, you’ll be too cold
