only Winnie the pooh fans will get that one... Just popped in to say that I'm not dead yet, just been flat out at work, the French have taken to heart the idea that holidaying in France is neccessary this year so they have, massively, but for the French "holiday" means July or August, nut June and not september, so we have been at running at full capacity from 10th July to end August (which though excellent is not going to make up for the other 6 months of running at either 0 or 5 %... ) with just myself and the company owner working rather than him, me and 3 techniciens. needless to say I have nearly as many hours overtime owed as I have holiday still to take so It has been" work, eat, sleep, repeat" for the last month and a bit. It has now gone quiet again so I'll be back with more tales of derring do from Burgundy shortly, Starting on sunday when I will be attending an off road motorcycle training session with a professional instructor, given as a birthday present from Mme Moon. it's going to take me a while to catch up with everything on here but normal service will be resumed as soon as poss. ?3 points

In case you didn't see this info in the other thread......I'll put it here again. If you're so totally fucked up that you struggle to see things properly on here.....then you can change your view in the Customiser option. In there you can enlarge fonts in posts along with some other options that may suit you better. The quality of the content here will still be shit but at least it'll be shit that's clearer to read!2 points

I was being sort of lazy after lunch, a few work e-mails and then started to think of just staying home snoozing instead of going out for my ride. Made an effort thinking it would be the first time I would be riding my familiar roads with the new suspension. At first thought of visiting a friend but didn't really feel like being with anyone and headed for the hills. On the way up, this is maybe my favourite piece of 2km road in this area, bumpy on tight corners with tree roots lifting the tarmac, unfortunately you can't see any of that in this video: Had a good cup of coffee in my favourite cafe up there, regardless of how hot the weather is at my home, up here under these trees it's always nice. A few bikes turn here on sundays, but it's always calm on week days. Heading back down: Someone left a nice couple of circles, I wouldn't be brave enough to do that here. Back in Azambuja I decided to make this a sort of dark motorcycling themed thing as it was a little to early to go home and I felt like taking a little more advantage of the afternoon, ended up with more of a ruin motorcycling than dark. Went to visit the Palacio das Obras Novas (also known as Palacio da Rainha, queen's palace), this building was erected in the end of the eighteenth century and acted as a control point for ship that used to travel in this canal between Lisbon and Vila Nova de Constancia. They had a hotel or an inn of sorts as support for the steam boat traffic, but since the surrounding area was pretty majestic it attracted important guests for long stays, becoming well know for Kind D.Carlos enjoyment of the place. (There you go, culture!) The road leading to it goes through tomato fields, but the last straight used to be lined with a very impressive row of huge palm trees, all gone now from a palm tree beetle infestation a few years ago: Before the bugs ate the palm trees it used to look like this, not my picture: Riding back, past a few trailers full of tomatoes ready to go for the local tomato juice factory, most of the tomato pulp in Portugal is made here. They might be a little overloaded Made it back home pretty dusty.1 point

You could live to 150 and you'd still not achieve that (in my experience) A smaller , lighter bike could open up so many more opportunities for you.1 point

Yeah, but no. I'm a one bike man I guess, I am happy to do as much as I can do with my one ride, I just don't know those limits yet with the tiger. I explained to the guy whose doing the training ( he's a full time instructor for the police nationale motorcycle school in Sens just north of here and has set up a company doing this at the weekends) that I want to discover what i can do with this bike as it stands... with what I've got, kit and tyres.1 point

Funny thing is that I was reading his post and thinking "cool, glad it wasn't just me thinking this", and then "weird, it's really like it could be my writing", and then I went to check if you had changed my username as a prank1 point

Doesn't look to bad for me either, but I think that is because in the US they have plenty of space even in poor areas, so you get wide sidewalks and plenty of space between houses like you do in rich neighborhoods in Europe.1 point

I love that they acknowledge a problem and solve it by taking advantage of it and offering an altogether new engine as a replacement. Also proves that Harley can make a fast engine if they want to1 point

One thing I've found which is interesting. There's an option to create a specific mobile app.......which I've done. It's now waiting to be accepted by Google Play and the App Store!1 point

Starts airing in two weeks time.....on Apple TV! WTF is that? I enjoyed the previous two........no idea why some people give them (mostly Charley Boorman) stick for it! It was good entertainment, and a huge boost for the motorcycle industry in general. But this one on Apple TV? How are mainstream audiences supposed to see it?1 point

It's not old age that's done this.......I've known him for 18 years now, and I think we've spoken to each other nearly every day on the Net during that time. And he's always been completely unstable!1 point

I can't get over that shit. Portugal has been complaining that the UK doesn't open traffic for tourists to come here and return freely, arguing that we are better than the UK at the moment, and that they have no reason to protect themselves from us. Well, if the UK is really in a far worse condition than Portugal at the moment then why in the royal fuck would we want hordes of uk tourists coming over? And why is the government openly trying to open borders? Honestly, there is no shame in politics or economics.1 point
