Texas and back

Earache

It's Saturday morning now and Dave and Debbie are heading back to Indy today while we stay here another night.

They were gonna leave this morning but it's snowing like a bitch here now, so their departure is delayed. Slushy roads are cold so they are gonna wait until noon and hope for  warmer weather....

I'll probably head out in the truck in awhile and try to find something to do. Had planned on local riding today but that's pretty much out now.

More pics later.....

Funnily enough it snowed in NM last time I rode through as well.

I'm riding to Las Vegas in 2 weeks - if it snows then, I'm gonna kill someone. Seems I just can't escape the snow no matter where I go.

I just can't fantom how cold it is and you're so further south....what the hell is going on...ice age?

Kinda weird. But here in Santa Fe the elevation is 6,700'feet.  It's  a lot colder when you're over a mile high. That's the difference. It got sunny and about 45F in the mid afternoon today. rather pleasant. But still had 35 mph winds so riding would be no fun. Tomorrow should be sunny all day and allow us to get back to Colorado with no issues.

Climate change, I wonder what @zzzak would have to say about it?

Right at 500 miles today,   and I'm finally home.

Stopped in northern New Mexico on the way for a snack and fuel.  Today was sunny and warm thew entire day - great day for a long ride...

Things I learned about Texas -

1) The riding kinda sucks. Straight, featureless roads that go on for miles

2) The people that live there are beyond friendly and super nice. We were amazed at how hospitable everyone was.

3) Food is pretty damned good - never had a bad meal! Same for New Mexico.

4) I'll be back..... but not on a bike.
