Enjoy.
I really liked the XR but the price ended that one.

I was tempted, I’m fairly tall ( although not as tall as Marcel or Bucky obviously ) and probably the XR would be a better fit with a bit of fiddling, but for some reason I do enjoy the naked bikes.

I’m stopped at CTL in Cirencester for a break , staying at my mates in Redditch tonight then we’re riding up to Yorkshire tomorrow for our mate’s funeral.

Scooby was only 48 and a damned good rider , cancer is a bitch 😔

Off down to Lanner Kawasaki (Cornwall Kawasaki Centre) in a minute, with my demented mate Steve.  Has his eye on a Guzzi V85TT down there.  🤨  Pictures later I expect.  👍

This afternoon I went to see another mate with an air con leak. I'd had an old refill canister and gauge so drilled a hole in the end and fitted a tyre valve so I could pressure up the system and find the leak.
I found said leak, loaded up the car and came home only to find the canister missing. Mates had a look and he can't see it over there either.

Early night I think.

When will you take the s1000r for a proper ride, @Nute? It’s a nice engine, but some say it’s a bit vibey.

I rode it on the trip to Bosham on Sunday. Can't say I noticed any undue vibes but then again the FTR is very vibey so anything else is rock solid by comparison.

Every car ive had has been large displacement and lots of low end torque so that's what I am kind of used to and I find it difficult to switch to using the revs to get the ooopfh out of a bike, and that's exactly what the s1000 needs. I owned the MT09 for several months before I noticed that the rev counter went green once you wound the revs up enough 😄. The BMW really is a lovely engine.

I have raised the bars by 25mm which weirdly makes a huge difference to the comfort/riding position - I need to decide if I think it would be further improved but bringing them up a bit higher but that would require altering the brake lines.

Im somewhat bigger than the average rider so all I can see in the stock mirrors are my shoulders - new bar end mirrors to fit tomorrow which will improve things.

Not too bad when you get wet if the destination is home and doesn’t take long to get there.

I’m glad you’re out on the bike!

Try rotating them a little forward or up, I am aware they’re pretty flat but it’ll still make them a little taller and make the bike feel more offroad and lively. Might not suit a 160hp bike, but the advice is worth what you paid for it 🤣

It’ll be a full day of small roads on a heat wave, to have dinner by the border before going to Bilbao.
