  1. Already cut pieces of mango?
  2. That’s great, very UKish I am fighting the urge to go look at a T700 as a stablemate to the GS, for more offroad oriented trips, your reports aren’t helping
  3. Oh, go on, I’m drinking for the both of us
  4. Actually, the person I rode the longest with was someone completely different of myself, who I grew to like dearly. Me and Maria were arriving to Morocco and checking into a hotel and we met outside. Me and her carried all our stuff for two weeks in two side vario cases in the shortened position, he carried three huge aluminium cases just for himself, for one week Turns out he lived 20km away from my parents, and somehow we were instant friends and travel companions. We were so different on the bike that you had to laugh at it. I travel in jeans and a light jacket, so we got on the bike fast and effortless, while he always took his time, taking a last puff on the electric cigarette thing, gloves and helmet on, then realizing he forgot to put his earphones on and takes helmet back off, put earphones on and helmet back on, scrambles to find his phone and plug the earphones, gloves back on, then gloves back off to put the electric cigarette somewhere more handy, then finally we're off, and then he shoots off at Warp5 and gets lost because Maria was doing the navigation and we rode slowly. We did almost a week of this, and I really appreciated the humor of it because he was a great guy and did it in a relaxed manner very much his own. Got a few pictures or video of myself on the bike and him scrambling to get ready. Going through villages slowly he was always on my rear, and popping wheelies at every single speed bump. You had to love a guy that carried 1 bottle of gin, 1 bottle of whiskey, and 1 bottle of vodka on his trip to Morocco, that allowed us to spend an afternoon drinking G&T on a pool in the Sahara. Rui passed away a couple of years ago, that was very sad news, I would have loved to go on another trip with him.
  5. I have problems riding with most people, in fact I've only ever travelled with two other bikes because of that same thing, drives me mad looking back and not being the bike bike following me or having to worry if they're too close when I find an obstacle or need braking harder than normal. I do enjoy company when out of the bike but riding with other people is not something I usually do, partly because I have my own rhythm of doing things, most of the time it annoys me being both rushed to get on the bike, or waiting for someone to faff around with their helmet and stuff. Then once we get going I admit my pace varies a lot just on the mood I'm in, and I dislike riding faster than I feel like, or slower than I feel like. I'm basically a very selfish person
  6. A ride report on the wrong place? TOTY contender? By testing, do you mean to see if he's quick enough? Because if you're way in the distance he can't really be of any danger
  7. Well, game on, I'll be the namby pamby then...
  8. Because of snow? won’t everyone be snowed in or freezing?
  9. Pete, as soon as November rolls in, BOTM will be ours for months, or Bob’s
  10. Not bad of an idea for your bike
  11. I voted for Moon's bike, because it is the only Triumph trail bike I ever liked looking at, and it also makes me want to ride in France, which is something I never wanted to before.
  12. I am torn between the T7 and the Triumph
  13. Oh come one, I meant it as a complement
  14. Silly me, I forgot about @Buckster 's cool bordeaux colored Harley, here is a picture:
  15. Gather around and cast your vote for the July 2020 edition of the Adventure Motorcycle Bike of The Month. There's fierce competition this month, a total of 9 bikes. @alfalfa's BMW R1200GSA with special hotrod flames, riding Red Rock Pass. Showing you don't need to forego style to go on an epic ride. @boboneleg 's Yamaha T700 on a field of red flowers, surely about to get muddy @Earache's Yamaha XT1200Z Super Teneré, long distance and high altitude dirt rides are their thing. A proper sky over it. @Grasshopper's Ride 's trusty Bagheera, a Royal Enfiel Himalayan exploring dirt roads in search of scenic lakes @MooN 's Triumph Tiger 800 XC on a rural France rideout @Pedro 's BMW R1200GSA, my own bike on a scenic view of the ocean south of Lisbon @Specs ' CCM GP450 Adventure, bringing Dakar flair to the UK, on a rare sunny day @Tym 's Kawasaki KLR 650, Team Green proudly showing off it's new fuel tank on a ride to the beach @XTreme's Suzuki V-Strom 650 visiting an abandoned and possibly haunted train station in deserted Spain
  16. This evening I'll start the poll on this, any last day submissions?
  17. Another guess is that people came from england and london and named it that, before building those buildings?
  18. On the 1150, being a dry clutch, I used to put 10w60 Castrol, a motorsport oriented oil for M car engines, worked great with smoother engine and no consumption.
  19. He was just baiting you, all bikes are Harleys
  20. Oil makes a huge difference. when I drove a track car, it was a small 1.9 liter 4 cylinder being driven hard on a fast track. Oil temp would get to 140° on fast laps, and I used to do that for an hour straight before stopping, a few times per day. On that car I used Silkolene, Castrol worked as well. Everything else would go warmer and come out darker. Silkolene would come out looking the sane as going in. On my bike and the previous 1150, I put Castrol or BMW branded stuff while it was being done on the dealership, up until a couple of years ago that used to be Castrol. This bike doesn’t use oil, but if it starts in the middle of a trip you can find Castrol anywhere, and although you can mix same grade synthetic oils I don’t like to.
