  1. Back then you probably already had Husabergs and Husqvarnas with enough of an engine to have torque from down low and rev up when you wanted. If you liked an XR you probably didn't mind the weight, did you have those in the US?
  2. Oh wow, congratulation to you! That's serious on an XR suspension.
  3. Having not tried one, I do like it.
  4. What kind of tracks were you racing in, @Earache?
  5. Buying broccoli and cabbage and stuff...
  6. I am pretty sure that if you really want to, you'll find Portugal will be an open location in the future.
  7. I was there to visit, Pete, I know what you mean. But, having said that, there are plenty of places near Murcia that are authentic, and then there is Portugal even though that might have been a little bit of a stretch at the time, considering you were deciding between Spain and France. After a ride in small roads, a plate of coal grilled fish or meat, a couple of bottles of cold wine, and Portugal might just change your way ...
  8. Nobody told you to move to the cold high plains. The coldest I've been has been in Spain, my car at the time slept outside the hotel and had ice cataracts from bumper to the ground in the morning, that's just not christian!
  9. Probably in 11 months, but just keep that one close to your chest just in case
  10. Indeed, Grasshopper! What most people don't know is that if you are yourself you are cool, regardless if others are aware of this at the time or not. This is the unfairness of coolness.
  11. Royal Enfield has just lost my confidence, they got a guy from a chinese voice over product guidance to do their tutorial on how to change a battery, and also made changing a battery harder than on an BMW GS?
  12. Just to make it clear @Sir Fallsalot, the "you" in my coolness post wasn´t directed at you, it´s directed at humanity. You're cool, unless you wear white motocross boots which I'm sure you don't.
  13. There are rules, Fred, and there is a natural coolness factor, everything is to be considered. It's no joke.
  14. I haven´t had a proper frosty beer mug in a while, man that makes me salivate. On the other hand, those two plates before, I don't get the vibe on those. Just too many things I can't tell apart in a picture, I'm sure it would be different in person, specially after a frosty beer mug like that.
  15. That isn't cool because you're like a lame duck with a kickstart sticking inside your pants laying in mud under your bike. I think the tuck is cool sometimes, but these "sometimes" obeys to rules: Rule 1: you need to be cool to pull it off, mean @Grasshopper's Ride or Ewan McGregor can pull it off, doesn´t mean you can! Think about it, look at them, do you think you're as cool as them? Get real, more likely is you can´t be as cool as them. Look at Ewan standing next to an uncool dude, it's him making the look look cool and not the other way around, plus he's wearing Sidi motocross boots with a classy stitched sole (classy!!!) on the outside, would you wear those with leather pants? No, you wouldn't, because you're not cool like him. Then look back at Michelle standing next to an 80's Honda, she's a girl and that's an uncool bike, but that doesn't matter if you're Michelle, are you as cool? Hell no, you are not! Just be happy and celebrate our differences instead of being an uncool "tucked in". Better be the 80% cool you think you are than being uncool. Uncool isn't cool, you don't want to be uncool! Rule number 2: Most of all, more than being cool, is being yourself! And if you are yourself, it means you are cool! Michelle and Ewan McGregor are cool because they're being themselves, not because they are pretending to be cool people. That's cool, unless you're not. Rule number 3: Unless you are not cool by nature! Boom, there you go!!! I just blew your mind! In that case, you can never be cool. But if you are uncool by nature, you can just wait it out a little bit and fashion will change, then you'll be cool. Unless you're not.
  16. I nominate you for that position, think of it as a service to everyone.
  17. Most bikes won’t start if they’re frozen solid for a day. Have you considered a quick disconnect thing to take the battery inside or just some sort of awning to take the frost away? If you’re living in your own house, I’d build some kind of shelter, at least from the frost coming from above.
  18. Oh I know that, I just don't understand what they have to do with broken boots.
  19. I think so, not sure unless they would actually try, I would bet they would be usable. Surely not like new but way better than duct tape over it.
  20. You're such a beemer owner troll If you're interested, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get portuguese citizenship with a few euros, can't see Portugal turning brits away as we're too money hungry spineless for that.
  21. Same thing happens here if you're crossing council borders on forbidden times. After showing them the letter, I've told a few cops that I wouldn't be talking to anyone except them had I not been stopped, and thanked them for forcing me to talk to someone who had contact with hundreds of people that day except the one person I was going to visit.
