  1. I think we could perhaps have a "garage" type of section here, a thread per bike with this sort of stuff seems better than losing it in hundreds of pages of random stuff.
  2. So your first job was to make it look scruffy? WHAT?
  3. I stand firm in my vote for the 700, I think the old guy wants a smoother engine a little better suited for a passenger ... and a big top box, shall one start a thread about Pete's next top box? 52 lt Givi? It is after all way more discussed than his choice in bike once it starts appearing in ride reports
  4. Did you actually pay without looking at it first?
  5. If that's not a serial flouncer I don't know what is.
  6. Didn't Bruce flounce before and then rejoin with this new forum? I find flouncing so distasteful, might as well just leave when you're bored or offended.
  7. What are the chances another member here buys another bike before Pete takes procession of this one? Was Mawsley to unflounce the odds would be pretty much even!
  8. That's interesting, but the Hayabusa hasn't got much use for lighter weight, and people who buy the MV will compare it to a fast Ducati or a BMW S1000 or something like that.
  9. Also 800cc and 140hp means it's fast but not 200hp insanity like a bigger 1000cc, normal people can go through a few gears going really fast without shitting themselves.
  10. I have trouble looking at that picture without listening to the voice of the portuguese guy that dubs BBC wild life documentaries in my head, what a pretty picture!
  11. That was quite a while ago, nowadays they would have been better mapped.
  12. Van action, makes me think of these sad times in Portuguese motorsport, it had the "advantage" that most of them were purchased by companies as work vehicles ...
  13. It was a very green and pretty forest but smelled like the ocean, which was pretty nice.
  14. Quite a nice erection, too! And again, the Harley is looking cool!
  15. I think that's their whole business plan, fixing those bikes and selling parts for them.
  16. Rode to my parents' today, instead of doing it in 2,5 hours on the motorway I took a long way. Left home in 27º heat and sunshine, the kind of sunshine that makes it feel like 35º, stopped for lunch at my favourite cafe forgetting it closes on Mondays. As soon as I crossed the hills and went to the shore temperatures dropped. Back home it was about 32º by lunch time but here, a few kms north as well it was 21º and feeling a bit chill. I did hop on the Motorway for a while to make distance but quickly got off and went to visit Cape Mondego, about halfway between Porto and Lisbon on the shore. The views are more impressive without the mist, this is a place of big beaches: Not a lot of effort put into the stone signaling the status of these forests being declared protected Rode down the nice (in forest and trees, not surface) forest roads closer to the lighthouse, out of my way completely but I like a nice lighthouse. Tried a little dirt road with a view to take a picture of the lighthouse from above, it was only a few meters from the proper road, not a big adventure: From there on, I headed north on pretty lame and boring roads, stopping by the other lighthouse to have a pretty shitty ham and cheese toast for lunch. How someone can fuck up a ham and cheese toast is beyond me, but it can be done. Felt like a trip instead of a commute, balanced the extra mileage with less money on motorway tolls which is always nice.
  17. Pete? 1983 blue riding jacket Pete?
  18. I liked that, have a feeling I walked through part of that when I was in London a few years ago. Who was the disrespectful architectonic genius that came up with broken headstones for stepping stones?
  19. There was a time when you'd take pictures and post them with a little write up in a ride report. I miss that... that made us feel like a serious motorcycle forum
  20. That's just rude and aggressive towards you, and for what it's worth (very little) I wouldn't put the blame on the pole, either. Don't know why your son is like that towards you, but if you can't talk to him to improve things and he doesn't want to be there, it's just a toxic situation.
  21. They're probably a blast on the road
