Also had a close look at what needs to be done cosmetically after Shadows damage and storm Goretti’s damage to it. Not to bad really few bits and bobs to be paired and some paint correction (polishing) on the tank. YamaHead Posted Tuesday at 15:13 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:13 Well, after dealing w/ a plugged up sewer pipe running through my yard....that the neighbor is also attached to...for a month now...finally got it fixed yesterday. 6ft. of pipe was completely plugged w/ tree roots that was on the hillside of the front yard. Had a plumbing outfit come out w/ an excavator & dig it up...replaced the plugged section w/ PVC pipe & then back fill the deep-a$$ trench they dug. The amount of sh*t water that came out when they cut out that section of pipe was astonishing. Now all I have to do is recap the 2 clean-outs in the yard & then wait for the (probably Stoopid expensive bill) the show up. Fortunately, the neighbor has agree'd to split the bill w/ me since his 130 y/o house was probably the 1st house on this hillside back in the day. I'm just glad it's done. The high level brake light does not illuminate, took a gander at it, can I see how to remove it!, can I hell as like, no visible screws, looked on YouTube, it says there are 2 Torx screws?..so where the hell are they? I did a quick search and it looks like you have to remove the trim piece that the light is housed in first which if it like the one in the video runs fully along the top of the rear hatch. I did remove the trim, there are 2 holes which are directly behind the light, I can see in there and there are no screws, or what appear to be clips. I think @Catteeclan,s suggestion that the light unit just clips into the cut out in the tailgate, and needs levering out.... but as I say, I will most likely (definitely ) bust it in the process of removal, I will order a new one, which may give me the solution as to how it is fitted into the tailgate.. That maybe so, I want/need the new lamp 1st, don't want to bust the one that is in at the moment, I would have to put gaffer tape over the hole if i was not able to refit the non functioning light, i would end up with a tailgate full of water. Buckster Posted 4 hours ago Share Posted 4 hours ago Finally tracked down the vacuum leak on the turbo in the car, the vacuum pipes were like a plate of spaghetti, I have now rerouted them all so I can more easily work on them in the future, what the hell Mercedes were thinking when they built it is anyones guess. Anyway, I replaced a couple of hoses as they were old but nothing was leaking, turns out it was the MAP sensor on the manifold, I am guessing the membrane is perforated in the sensing module as the fault seemed to be more likely to happen on wet days, I had previously thought it might be electrical but I checked, cleaned and waterproofed every possible connection. Seems it was being affected by barometric pressure. It must have been feathering the waste gate actuator as well as now it has a lot more boost and I can hear the turbo spool up sooner. Put the Dacia on Marketplace at 8am, it was sold and collected at 9am, well it was for sale cheap, but it will need work in the near future, rear axle badly corroded/rusted, clutch pedal right at the top ( needs a new clutch) and exhaust was flagged up at the last MOT, very rusty in places. It has been a good car in the 10 years of my ownership, it only caused problems on the last 2 MOT,s.
