I never had any real probs but they did have a habit of letting go at times. Wouldn't want them now as I doubt I'm quick enough to respond.
Having said that I wouldn't push that hard at my age.

dont know off hand the sizes , probably the same size as a dr 250

Oh yeh.....they did it on a 45bhp XT600 and a 50bhp Transalp.

Not exactly hot stuff motorcycling but they still felt very iffy to me.
