Marcel
Well I was thinking of having the timing chain , tensiner and guides replaced...not having the proper tools here to take on such a job , deceided to take it to the dealer , that was a month ago , the service tec , insisted that I bring it right away before the summer rush starts...so I did... Marcel
Told them wyll the tanks are off , could you install a set of fresh plugs , replace the handgrips has the old one were still the original ones from 2004 and were turning into plastic and have a look at this slight oil leak , it only leaked when the bike was running and was really hard to find exactly were it was coming from after the bike was ridden a few hundred km...
Marcel
Anyway two weeks later I get a call...the technician had a look at it...said the entire engine would have to be pulled out and re- gasket everything...has for the the timing chain , it appears to be ok , but it's something we wouldn't be able to do this time of the year..it would be a winter project, ...asked them did you install a set of plugs..no...the grips..no..they sold me these grips with different types of cams wich I figure out doesn't work on this bike...so they ordered the specific one for this bike...so I decided afterall to pickup the bike and bring it home...anyway I have to give them and F for effort.. Marcel
Waiting for the throttle cam, deceided to clean the front sprocket area to remove the old chain lube...when I pulled off the clutch slave , a big table spoon of engine oil leaked out of it..from what I could tell the clutch pushrod seal was leaking...still waiting for the seal...suppose to be in this week...anyway the manual called for the pushrod to be removed in order to replace the seal...I didn't want to drain the oil has it was still fresh or take apart the pressure plate..so I did the old screw in the seal trick..
Marcel
Hopefully it will be back and running by the weekend ....this is the time of the year I like riding it more..has the roads are shit with potholes , and weather isn't to great for riding other than doing some off road... Ya seal is no bigger than a dime...only a master technician would attempt removing it in this manner...you would have probably drilled into the engine case...lol. Marcel
Ya it was a little tricky to get the seal out...has it sitts a good quarter of inch inside the case...
Marcel
well I got a 300 dallar bike wash , by the look of the chain it looks like it was sitting outside in the weather..lol.......not to mention the amount of fuel I burned running it back and forth.....pretty discusted ...mostly my fault....should have looked at it better myself , but the service tec kinda conned me into bringing it in right away.....that trailler is nice but it makes that truck burn twice the amount of fuel...at 2,15 per L ...so I juste loaded it the back of the truck for the return ride. boboneleg
The pushrod looked pretty good. I had to replace mine as it rounded off on the end and didn't work properly. If it were me I'd replace the slave with an Oberon unit, much more reliable. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374208538446?chn=ps&_ul=GB&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=374208538446&targetid=2447165152256&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9241345&poi=&campaignid=23478383421&mkgroupid=194714730609&rlsatarget=pla-2447165152256&abcId=10587450&merchantid=137585916&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23478383421&gbraid=0AAAAAD_Lr1cHU49xG7kSMYaotKQJXU6MK&gclid=CjwKCAjwn4vQBhBsEiwAq3hhNwY5Uko369wg6Sd-1Lc3bqGu-VXSth89Msq6s2XBAM8D7M8l1eeoORoCYDkQAvD_BwE
