To use a local phrase "He is all cock and ribs like a Zanzibar Greyhound" 🤣

He reckons he can get 70mph out of it but the couple of times I have ridden with him he never got much past 60mph.     I have had a couple of spins on it and it wouldn't go past 60mph with me on it but then again I reckon I am twice his weight.  It's not a pristine example of the breed either.     Hateful thing IMHO, Shadows is a much better bike if a little slower to accelerate.    But talking about 125 performance is a bit like fleas arguing over who owns the dog, as I tell the kids loudly and often 🤣

:classic_biggrin:...My old '74 DT 125 saw an indicated 73mph w/ my fat arse on it...I thought I'd won the lottery that day.🤣

I knew it'd only be a matter of time before our resident Peanut Gallery piped up w/ a wise crack...:classic_biggrin: The stretch of tarmac I did that on was pretty damn flat, I'll have you know.

It was an old favorite that I frequently took most of my bikes on...

Well HH is a happy bunny, apparently his bike is going much better now with the new pipe, apparently the handling is on point now and the front brakes are awesome.   Funny how having the right brake lever and straight forks does help 🤣.  Seriously I am happy he is.

I remember those days when I was on my 125 and "keeping up" with the guys on litre bikes and 600s when in reality they must have been very bored, but it is a rite of passage i guess.

But then again to me now a 600 feels like a 125 after jumping from the busa to my old mans thundercat I was wringing its neck wondering if it was broken but it was really giving all it had but still felt slow

Well it’s How High’s 19th birthday tomorrow so I have bought him some new mirrors and am fixing the crash damage on the right hand side of the bike best I can.
I have got a spare indicator and in the process of patching up the fairing.
I recently bought a hot stapler to stick the fairing back together.    Works surprisingly well, much better than I thought it would.

Still gotta patch two holes and fill the cracks but I am hoping it will look presentable from 10 feet once I have painted it satin black.

Holes filled with fibreglass.

Hideous mirrors, but it is what he wanted.

Cheap as chips really I think I paid £11 for mine.   I have since bought another box of staples for £7 but worth it for the occasional time you might actually need it.

First go at filling, just given it a dust coat of paint when that flashes off there are some spots that will need some fine knife filler but I am not going for perfection only tidy.   I am sure you could get it perfect with enough time and effort.    Not worth it in this instance.

Good idea. Hope it's warmer than here, 2 deg.

There is a heater in there, twas 9 degrees here but around 25 in the tent thing.  Perfect to spray the fairing panel.   It's up the shed drying now, I'll see the results in the morning.

Sure hope How High @ least shows some appreciation for all your hard work....

He has thanked me several times.  😉.   He is a good lad.   I wouldn’t being doing it else.

Finished, not perfect but better than it was, much better than the other side.   Which I will do at some point.    Needs Fork seals first.

Not bad at all that mate, hopefully it will stay like that and he'll learn that he should be keeping the seat facing the sky 😉

Cheers, I'm sure it will look okay when it is on the bike.  HH last tumble shook him up so I'm hoping he will stay upright for awhile now.

Whats causing the spills is it just going in to corners too hot or not reading the roads far enough ahead or just general dicking around?

I think he is just a Jonah.   He's been off on Ice and Gravel and was knocked off by a DPD van.   He's ok on the bike really, nowhere near as competent as Shadow but ok.   His main problem is that he doesn't plan ahead or allow for road conditions.  Hopefully he will learn.  😳
