  1. I'm sitting on my fat ass in the hotel waiting in the rain to stop so I can go. I don't mind riding in a bit of rain but hate to load up my bike and set out in it. And it's only 45F out as well.
  2. -3C right now, might try to get out on the Tenere if it warms up later. Haven't been out on it yet this year.
  3. It's "Mr. Casual" to you.
  4. Yea, I live in rural Colorado..... Was getting fuel today in Ned and this guy pulls up next to me with a dead bull in his truck. Nice.
  5. That's the questions, innit? If he can flat foot the 650 of choice, then it should be a great starter bike.
  6. Or an aluminum baseball bat to the shins - gives that really nice "pting!" sound.
  7. Ohhh - that sounds good; be a tour guide guinea pig! I'd kinda like that actually. Hate wine - so no need to see any of that. Be up for the food though. As far as I know, it'd be one couple (Dave and Debbie) and myself. Doubt my wife will do another long tour after the Ireland debacle. Neither of us are shy of sporty rides. I think Morocco might be out; but can discuss with Dave when I see him next month.
  8. 35C doesn't bother me at all - so it'd probably be more of a May / June time frame should we go there. Did a three week tour in Ireland once - rained each and every day. So I'd rather keep with the dry.
  9. I'd think around 10 days in country with 2 travel days on each end.
  10. Have done Wales a couple of times as well - forgot to include in the original post. But would also go back.
  11. I've been to Spain a couple of times - but mostly to see the race at Jerez. Didn't get to see much else during one trip and saw a little more on the second trip - still not enough though. I'll assume bike hire is available there? Any recommendations for hire shops?
  12. Sitting in a Texas bar with my buddy Dave, we were discussing trips for 2024 and the desire to go further afield. Thought we'd give someplace in Europe a try this time. I've done England, Scotland and Ireland a bunch of times - so don't really wanna go there. Have done Germany, Italy, Switzerland and France a few times as well, but would go back. Dave has never done any of Europe. So where would you guys suggest we go - and why?
  13. I was broke and $20 is $20.
  14. At least my burps and farts don't smell like cum. Now that's gay.
  15. That;s racist! Happy birthday anyway.
  16. Glad they were dropped off. Now maybe they can be recycled into something useful like a umbrella stand.
  17. I hate to think how much fuel costs us per week. I fill my truck 2 times per week and the wife probably does that in her car as well. At least fuel is cheaper here.
  18. Off towards Texas today on the first bike trip of the year, Lovely day for a ride .....
  19. Although aftermarket - Cragars would still be period correct.
  20. You just know what it's gonna look like ...
  21. I had a set of custom ear plugs made by one of the doctors for an Indy Car Team while we lived in Indianapolis about 25 years ago. He put speakers in them designed for voice comms - same as the race car teams used. They worked great for about two years then the silicon / rubber part got kinda hard and they no longer fit as well. Great while they lasted though. I suspect that Buck's will last longer as they're probably made from more modern stuff.
  22. Round trip should be right around 3,000 miles and it'll be a 6 day ride. Plan to hit Big Bend National Park, Amarillo and then Santa Fe, New Mexico on the way home. Of course there will be pics and a ride report ... if my fingers thaw out enough to type.
  23. 13F / -11C with wind and light snow here right now. Heading to Texas on the bike in 24 hours - this is gonna be fun!
