Blasted for home after that. 900 miles in a couple of days with decent food and fun with the wife.

Even had a honey liquor still and sold various types of honey booze that they made. That shit had to taste foul....

Hit a honey factory on the way outta town. They had every possible product that you can make with honey for sale....

Weird as Hell place that the wife picked for dinner (fuel station hot dogs would have been better). She had the planked salmon and I went with some kind of flat bread pizza. 3 beers with some kind of dip with bread chips and I was out the door for $161.00. A bargain!

Drinks in some old hotel bar before dinner reservations at 8:00. Good drinks and an annoying guitar player / singer ...

Landed at our hotel in Durango; it was next to a creek with a bunch of guys fly fishing. I';d like to try that someday but don't know shit about it...

Road surface isn't perfect but good enough. Had a good time railing along all day...

There is a paved road on both the north and south rims if the Canyon, we rode the north side today...

Knocked out a short overnight trip with the wife on the Gold Wang to Duyrango, Colroado. Cruised through the Back Canyon of the Gunnison National Park along the way. The Canyon isn't all that deep, buit it's about 50 miles or so in length. No other traffic at all...

It's a fuckin' heat wave here today with heat warnings out =high of 66F / 18C.....

Great ride report - except for the heat!

Pretty much. I still make custom furniture as a side gig, but only work when I want to. As my summer is very short - just over three months - I have to squeeze as much riding in as I can during the nicer weather.

Had three days of over 750 miles per day - those were a bit less than fun towards the end of the day. Most other days were less. Trip was 14 days with three days off of the bike to rest up, laundry, oil change, etc.

But I made it home about 11-1/2 hours later with just over 5,300 miles added to the clocks. It's good to be home.

About 6 hours later and I stop for another pee break - STILL in Kansas. That fuckin' state is w-i-d-e as fuck ....

Almost sunrise and I stopped for a pee break in Kansas near a DOT garage...

Stopped in Kansas City at 0400 for fuel. Weird being in a empty place that is usually packed with cars and people....

After Indy, I hit Columbia, Missouri to stay at Todd's house. Got there kinda late and had to leave at 0200 the following morning to make it home. I was trying to beat the heat by leaving early but the temp was already around 80F / 27C...

Following day was spent at my friend Clint's house hanging out at the pool drinking beers. Good day off the bike....

Bid my Chicago friend's goodbye and headed to Indianapolis for a couple of days and some Mexican food at a friend's restaurant. Think the roasted pepper platter (habaneros and jalapenos) was a bit over done, but still tasted good...

Then off to a local Italian joint for dinner ...
