Never need to apologise on here Lyn. 60 years, I'd be broken if I lost Mandi after only 35. We watched Mandis step dad deal with Mandis mums passing. He kept her next to a photo for 2 years before he let us spread her ashes. He'd also talk to her, passing comments. Think it was his way of letting go.

You can sometimes get a long thin screwdriver in-between the grip and tube and spray in a bit of lubricant but if it's a good glue you'd best cut rather than damage the tube.

Could you make something to cover it. You could replace it with MAP sensor but you'd need some clever bugga to create a new map for the ecu.

It's measuring the amount of air being drawn into the engine. It sends a varied voltage to the ECU which can adjust the fuel trim and timing. Not something you can do without. It could influence the running but couldn't say how much. This a kit car project or something?

We don't bother with that till after Mandis birthday which is the 9th Dec. And then sometimes we don't bother at all.

Mandi on her last visit to Denmark has adopted their idea of Christmas decor. Can't remember what they were called but she's ordered some. I'll post a pic of them later when she's out of bed.

Back in the day my mate Kevins mum had one. He used to smoke the tyres off it regularly until the gearbox gave up. And that bloody engine, sounded like a bag of spanners when they were right. I've no doubt they'll have some fun with it when finished but I could think of a few things that engine would go in. Prob not that's already been done though.
