Faro’s beach, but do look on google maps so that there aren’t any misunderstandings:

West of Faro is where old money goes on holidays, between Faro and Vilamoura. It’s nice but not cheap, lovely beaches too.

Also, check out Tavira, it’s a pretty place.

Faro is the Algarve’s capital city. The beach isn’t accessible from the town, you catch a boat or get there by car. But, there’s also two islands also accessible by boat, both without roads or cars, one of them deserted except for a restaurant. The other has some houses and a few restaurants and bars but also sand streets and a very chill environment. Perfect places to spend a day, find a deserted location and enjoy the clearest ocean water you’ll see in mainland Europe. These two islands are paradise. My parents used to have a house in Faro, so I’ve only been there on the bike, I loved it, going to the beach and parking right on the sand. It’s the least touristy town in the Algarve, although obviously there’s tourists everywhere during summer.

One of my favourite parts of the UK, from what I’ve seen. Also, Sammy Miller’s museum is very very cool!

Never been to that beach, but it’s near Portimao which is also very busy in the summer. When are you going? If you get bored and rent a motorcycle, it’s close to Monchique, which has some great roads up the hill. I would head more towards Faro or East but that’s just me.

If it’s all out speed obviously a Ducati V4 or a Super Adventure will dominate, but this seems to be a dirt track style thing? Traction and balance probably more of a factor.

Got to talking to a guy on the tyre shop the other day, he was putting a set of Michelin Road 6 on his cbf1000. He said that he rides everyday and during winter there is no other tire he wants since he tried the Road 5 for the first time, 4 sets so far and he won’t want anything else. Porto has a very slippery motorway style road, and lots of cobblestones inside the city, it’s slippery when it rains there.

I’m worried for Portugal, people tell they’re amongst the top 3 or 4 favourites, but our boys don’t react well to high expectations and confidence. They need to be put in a hard place. Having said that, I’m honestly hoping for a disgraced Spain and France more than any glory for Portugal
