  1. All in I would say there's just a little more than one hour riding time, my kind of lunch, really
  2. Sadly not more like a long size, even though I’m not thin

    autumn colors

That’s just gorgeous! I’ve driven across France on small roads once, and on motorways a lot of times, but the first time on the bike and I’ll call you for a guide.
  4. No, 80.800km, it’s a january or february 2016 bike, it’s been rolling around, sadly a lot more over the last 3 years without leaving little old Portugal.
  5. did you type that randomly with your eyes closed? Kawasaki names crack me up
  6. A sunny autumn day, started kind of sad and having no will to make lunch at home, after some work I rode to my favourite place in the hills for a burger. On the way there, I took a dirt shortcut, only 3 or 4 kms but good fun, stopped for pictures just for you guys One of my favorite bits of road There will be a car rally tomorrow on that road in previous pictures, I don't know if that's the reason why but they fixed some of the bumps cause by tree roots pushing the road up, they put patches of tarmac "fixing it", they're smooth now which spoils my advantage over sports bikes , but those kind of fixes never last and it's bound to be a potholed mess after a winter or two. Lunch, on a deserted place that is filled with bikers and cyclists on sundays Being the season, I foraged for tonight's dessert It's a nice place to stop by Stopped by my local Dainese outlet for a coffee and went in to check winter pants, I have been riding in jeans for years but feel like having something waterproof and better for winter riding this year, ordered a special size as I'm shaped oddly, waiting to see what they come up with. On the way home I took a couple of dirt roads, only to find the really fast one approaching my town is closed for works, I home they're not surfacing it ... no pictures of that. Weather turned from a chill 15º to a most excellent 23º by then, returning from the hills, my choice for a t-shirt under the basic jacket proved right. Got home in a better mood than I left, and spent the following two or three hours pulling weeds out of my garden / wild field. Now finishing a beer and this report outside in freezing wind, ready to go inside cook some grub and have some red wine , such is the life in the southern Portuguese countryside.
  7. My guess is that at 100hp the driveshaft would probably take too much performance out of it and make it too slow for journalists who are already going to say it would be better with 20hp more.
  8. I would not give up on my bike. But if I were to buy it again i would give the normal GS another couple of test rides before ruling it out.
  9. Someone will ask how much it weighs in a bit... I would have my R1200GSA, I would be tempted by a R1250GS, but having just one bike it would be mine.
  10. Bad news, things apparently will heal less and less by themselves after you’re forty…
  11. I like this, but think this needs a driveshaft, can't help but thinking Honda is doing a BMW and making a road touring bike out of the Africa Twin.
  12. I think walnuts but I don't know the difference between them, sadly not from my garden but from the local grocery store. It's a very typical autumn fruit in Portugal, more so in the interior. I´ve been wanting to eat this since the ride last week to the mountains where I saw lots and lots of trees loaded with them.
  13. Autumn colours in the kitchen
  14. As a side note, big capacity engines aren't ending, what might be ending is stock bikes with big specific horsepower numbers.
  15. I notice the difference in prices, obviously, at putting in 25 liters at a time it shows. My joke was that it it does have autonomy so I forget about the cost and just enjoy it. I bought my bike for touring with a passenger, for that I do think the torque of a big bike is ideal, and carrying loads it's not necessarily less economical than a smaller bike. If I was restricted to 1000 then I would get a 1000, I wouldn't cry over it nor would it be the end of the world, but I would rather have mine. In fact, If BMW made a boxer 1000cc I would go and ride one to see how it would be, as a solo rider now I think it would be really cool.
  16. I would appreciate cheaper gas prices for sure, but my 1200 uses less than 5 lt/100km, if I ride normally and stay out of motorways it's got enough of a fuel range that I forget about gas prices between fill ups It'll take a while for me to consider exceptionally low fuel consumption as something that draws me to a bike, however, high fuel consumption does make me turn away from one, that has always been the case.
  17. They must be easy to spot amongst the fields

    Black Days!

9/11, was at school finishing lunch, someone turned the cafeteria’s tv to see the news and saw the second plane hit the towers while people still thought the first one was accidental.
  19. I like the landscape that you find “following your nose”. That does look like they serve food brought made from elsewhere, and a biker Sunday morning only thing to me.
  20. Nice area to ride for sure, roads look great!
  21. Mine's got the spoked wheels, smart ass!
