  1. Have you seen on some forums when you post an Intro thread......and someone always comes along and says "Welcome to The Madhouse?" Then when you look at the posts and threads they're like "What's your Favourite Cheese?", "What temperature should I store my Babycham?", or "Post your favourite Elizabeth Taylor pics". I look for madness but I never find any! None! It's boring as fuck, and everybody's miserable and complaining about everything. I don't know about you guys, but I go on forums to have a laugh. Not get fucking depressed.
  2. And how bizarre is this? It's 20c today.....and sunny! Haven't seen those temps since mid November. Unfortunately it's down to 12v tomorrow and cloudy!
  3. Things are looking up a bit here..... ......so I'm hoping to get out after only doing about 50kms so far this year. There's a perimetral lockdown in place so I can't go outside the borders of the town area......but it still leaves me some scope to ride a bit. I've seen no directives that I have to stay in the house, or that I can't use the bike......so I'm off somewhere. So what you guys got planned? Well......those of you who are allowed to ride of course!
  4. I split this into a new thread because @yen_powell for reasons best known to himself, decided to educate us all on Body Snatching in a thread about Lockdowns. I don't normally split threads or bother about derailing, but this one was so off the wall I thought it needed closer attention. Actually, one of the bike guys I knew in the early 70's went to Clink for Grave Robbing. I have no idea why he was doing that......neither did anybody else either! He was a complete psycho though. So.....any Body Snatching experiences you can recall? I'm sure Yen will be able to analyse it......he seems very knowledgeable on this subject for some reason.
  5. So where's that Twat @Swagman today? Got himself bevied last night and now Matron has put the kybosh on him.
  6. Give one a try Tym.....remember it has to be based on feelings......rather than things that have actually happened.
  7. It does help that nobody can understand what the fuck you're talking about most of the time Dave. If you did send a Spamming PM nobody would make any sense of the message anyway.
  8. Well you're the one that wants to take them out on a Boat! They're probably fucking stupid enough to do it too.
  9. @Clive........I think Mawsley's in the frame for getting an incomprehensible warning PM!
  10. You and @Skippy should get together, get Scotch mist and and have a right old knees up! Do a bit of blagging with the snout on your manor while you're at it.
  11. I wonder if we'll get any more incoming today cos it's getting like the WWE Royal Rumble now. We're just waiting to see who comes in next!
  12. I'm tagging the analytical Guru @Lone Amigo for his opinion on this. Cos he understands this stuff far better than me. For the first couple of years on bikes 71-72 I was dragging everything cos I had no idea how to ride. I'd just belt into a corner, slam on, and drop the bike over. And on many occasions me and the bike would be right over....onto the ground. So I decided to start thinking about what I was doing a bit more and remembered the years as a kid in the mid 60's watching Mike Hailwood on TV. What he did was always so effortless......he never looked like he was going fast, but he was. So I read up everything I could find on Hailwood and how he rode. Then looked at all the general riding advice stuff I could find. At that time, pre Jarno and Kenny eras where racing styles changed, Hailwood was always the gold standard for everything. So I started braking earlier into a corner, using a lower gear and then take a continuous loop that would allow me to turn the corner into more of a straight, while continually accelerating. So there was no late braking at the apex and drop......it was a smooth wide loop through the bend. That actually suited me better, it felt natural to me. And a couple of elite racers still continued to use that method in later years, most notably Eddie Lawson and Jorge Lorenzo. And they ended up with 9 World Championships between them so it's still effective. I've been behind guys on the same bike as me in corners and seen them scrape everything (and sometimes bin it), when I'm touching nothing down and actually maintaining a higher corner speed than them. So it's always worked for me. Never touched anything down and never binned it on a bend since the early years. No scrapes on pegs and usually big chicken strips too. I've always felt that this chicken strip thing on the road was always more of an indication of riding style than actual cornering speed. As I said I aspired to ride in the classic Hailwood style (in a very limited way obviously).......cos nobody could ever ride as smoothly and as quickly as he could. Just look at this and be in awe........
  13. I eat anything.....as long as it doesn't contain fish. Don't like fish.
  14. I was quoted €1300 here from a BMW dealer for a 1200 clutch replacement.
  15. Pedro volunteered to sacrifice himself.......and he could show them his food!
  16. His head would explode in 30 seconds with the interaction here. He'd get too stressed!
  17. Well @Clive hasn't been nuked yet.....maybe he could broker a trade there? So if we offered Pedro as a trade.......which of their members should we ask for? The Human Spellchecker doesn't seem to want any part of this place (and who can blame him)......so who's over there that has any value to us?
  18. That's basically it. But we can all learn something from it can't we?
  19. And am I right in thinking that they don't have to split the later model in half to do the clutch now?
  20. Let's have more entries! If you've got a pic taken this month then get it posted!
  21. So can some longtermers answer Rich's question? Is he going to get screwed over for sending a PM with a forum link or anything trivial of that nature? My personal feeling is we've never operated that way. Everything has always been very transparent. Yes....I know I've banned loads over the years......in fact I've retired more men than Social Security. But that was only as a last resort when all other attempts at reasoning with them had failed. I mean, how many chances did Flouncing Floater get FFS? I've banned people who are actually members here now, I've demoted people who are here now! They were all friends of mine but I had no other option. Essentially, everybody has to conform to the same standards.....including me! But let's be honest......we don't set the bar particularly high do we?
