  1. Further down the road is this, I'd never see it before it seems there was a hunting lodge here in past times, all that remains now is the moat........... Apparently this lane is known locally as 'Knicker Lane' as a lot of courting took place there in the 60's/70's . You'd have a hell of a job to get your Ford Cortina up there now
  2. I'd gone as far north as I was going today so started heading back south and onto the next lane.............. There were a few obstacles in this one as well............ The next lane drops down over a hill and ends at a ford but there's a twist as you have to ride in the ford for a couple of hundred yards to get out...... and then we were close to White Castle so popped up there to get a photo for the castle lovers...........
  3. So into Abergavenny to get some petrol and then onto the next lane, this was a good point to stop for my sandwiches.......... At the other end of the lane there's a farm on the right, nothing unusual about that but what was strange were the Peacocks on top of the horse box At first I thought they were 'ornaments' but then the ornaments started moving and showing off their backsides, it was quite comical............ Once I was back on the road I saw a sign for Llandewi Skirrid church, I'm not at all religious but I love the architechture......
  4. I'd forgotten how good they are Fred, the conditions made them quite challenging today
  5. It was the hardest ride I've had on my own for a long while, I'll sleep soundly tonight .
  6. The only problem with this lane is the amount of gates you have to open and close, when you're on your own it can be a real chore...... Further on it gets a bit narrow, the rut in this part is so deep that my bike is wedged in it here.......... The 'wedging' resulted in a bent brake lever, must be made from a re-cycled Thai wok Once I got back down to the main road I stopped to repair the lever and sorted out my leg. It was well sweaty by now with all the exersion so to save another 'incident' I sorted it out
  7. So onto another lane where I came across this.................... I have never seen lying water so black, I have no idea what caused it , pesticides draining off the fields ? cow piss ? all I know is I fulled intended NOT to fall off in it. Of course had Pete been there he would have phoned for Taxi immediately And then back across the old Abergavenny road and onto some lovely green lanes, I took some photos of the wild flowers for Michelle............ Then onto a cracker of a lane, it's hard to believe that this would have once been a main route for carriages back in the day..........
  8. Mine is about 25 years old, so you're probably not as 'old skool' as some of us
  9. So I had a late pass out for today so I plotted a route last night at 10.30 pm to do some lanes that I haven't ridden for probably 15 years. Made my way on the less travelled roads around Bristol and then across the Severn Bridge......... Once I passed Chepstow I found that the A466 Tintern road is closed so a diversion was made via Trellech where I did a short lane and discovered that it was very wet. On over Cwmcarvan Hill where the roads are narrow and have high hedges/banks.............. Trust me to meet the Milk tanker coming towards me, I had no option but to dismount and make a 27-point turn to ride back up to a point where he could pass. Here's the bugger, I met him later on in another lane but thank god we were travelling in the same direction............ Anyway, as I said earlier there was a lot of water today as it has been raining continuously for the past two days. A lot of the lanes looked like this.......... It also had the effect a leaving a 2-inch layer of red slime on some of the lanes as the rain had settled on the clay dust, it made it hard work at times and there certainly wasn't any 'styling and profiling' going on , just a lot of paddling to remain upright........... It was about 11.00am now so time for a coffee stop, this old oak tree made a good place to stop.........
  10. Nah , you get one that has a light in it and a crocdile clip on the end of a lead. You connect the croc clip to a good earth and then probe the connector terminals with the screwdriver , if the light comes on you know you've got a 'live'
  11. Nice one Pedro, is that a lake or a river behind your afternoon snack spot ?
  12. You could just use an electrical screwdriver to find a 'live'
  13. I use SAE connectors as well Tym, very useful for connecting different items.
  14. First of all, I like the 'Urr? ' Lol The top one has too many wires , the bottom one with two wires looks more favourable. If you can find that connector and it turns out to be a switched-live (only shows a reading when the ignition is on ) then that could be a good one to use.
  15. If you look at this diagram (I think it's for a 600 Bandit), you will see someone has drawn two seperate red lines pointing at connectors, I believe these to be spare switched/live connectors. The one by the headlight is brown/black-white, brown is usually live on Suzuki's . I have used connectors like that on my DR650 and DR350 as a feed for accessories.

  17. A lot of Suzuki's have a spare switched connector somewhere , have you got a workshop manual for the bike with a wiring diagram on it ?
  18. Hmmmmmmm, watch out Pedro because they're moving the champions league final from Istanbul to Porto, soon you'll have Man City and Chelsea supporters invading you
  19. Really ? have come you're whinging about how poorly you are then ?
  20. I’ll stick to the car for shopping, with the sort of riding I do the milk will end up as butter
  21. You don't want to wire straight to the battery or the small amount of draw from the charger mount will deaden your battery when it's not in use. What bike is it going on , if the it's the Beemer and it's got canbus wiring I'm out
  22. That's an absolutely great ride report Sofia, cracking scenery and lots of history as well This is stunning.................................
  23. Some cool stuff there Chris. Shame about the Tigger nap , at least you've christened it now .
  24. and for some strange reason I rahter fancy this................ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143937487232?epid=3032755330&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item218357c180:g:JqUAAOSw7GpgGrzS&amdata=enc%3AAQAFAAACgBaobrjLl8XobRIiIML1V4Imu%2Fn%2BzU5L90Z278x5ickk7d4nremBkvNKtcC0ZwqXDB%2FaEUWT0WDyBvfsznJ6uaUiHA1x78XVodUP9WKKGr66XhmoRVy3v1fQtGvSNOcGnK%2Bu9pfVaaRrT27gsY7YDNBrzYpvPlnvNYWVngUhpmFOc6SE4S76gMGD94eQlqUmFJ2my6c9dfoaThxCnhJERmiPUaphFYpea1cvSNWjsiCR%2BXKGsJ2gejNT8kj7KqKyQTklI5MFdk1sv84NUA4jhVQS0RnJkuKCpRidU5GYVynCfK7XuZNraKi2rTmoJeufJwx1MusIZ7lfbztFjUUK9CDPrmT82lh2JUli%2BPMA3G0q7Ro9QoVW8lP56O%2Bd7burmrDN8f02k%2BCdS9Pn0EcDDQM4qI%2F4RH4YBZkDsz3uT158i0xETxDSLcITG4UK9xDcJpOma%2FQ6rTLe3GFkFU1Fr5JXIHQoyeogjt2saIH0ZLI9O0XNnZzfDHu2DQu1R%2B0NT5G7O7lCDK7DaGFlcQRV4YMrwRvEypzb34S3vdVhxDio18HnzSeQcUsv08eZC9uToiYJa9MCHy%2Bvje7Z7EFfs2JT5gVEqsBcqBwRMmKT2rlAQHK49TDkUJmfN9Ft2xxDbEuACtWTphY4t1LjzLf5OIR%2F5WPVVaCFme0kbf6Mj0%2B94Ez99UotOd31759n6b0SaxwDJF3pH8BFV6kU%2BICm4jexGxOYJncZeTO%2F3aw5ei%2BlLR6Bk%2FdmlXViKpy%2FM%2FzRCED7HLW%2F4WZOEXn53EN0oSGXP%2F90YwGyMdb2mrIq%2BdSEB6YfJcRM91yENl%2Bruq3zLU1RGbrIPq27uRPfQqGcHCM%3D|cksum%3A143937487232ffca66caa69c4cb3aafa4128f9e5d76f|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2334524
