  1. 238 kg springs to mind.
  2. Belfast band. The drummer has decided to concentrate on her education so a guy is drumming now. European tour just announced.

    It's on!

Hope that the weather is kind for you. RouteI looks great! I need to get down that way again, while I still can.
  4. Bloody hell, rusks. I can actually remember eating them, with hot milk and honey. Funny how some childhood memories stay with you.
  5. I hate the bit from Cardiff to Merthyr, but if going north it's pretty much a bloody commute to where the decent roads and scenery begins.
  6. I was doing about five miles or so but lately it's more like three as I stop a lot, for photos!
  7. Yes. I think that once I've had one last long trip on it I might have to get something lighter.
  8. Forgot to put this up last Sunday. Decided to go out for an hour to give the bike a run. Fail. Some will recognise places from the photos. Once again I didn't get off the bike.
  9. W is a vowel in Welsh. In Welsh it would be cwtsh or cwts. Used far more in South Wales. It also means a small space, as in under the stairs, to a space to keep coal, also a safe place for an animal to sleep. The last is where I believe the current version comes from. A mother clutching a child would be a safe place hence a cwtch and this has evolved into the hug thing. Originally from the French coucher according to academics, and cooche was used a century or so ago in Gloucestershire so I doubt if originally from the Welsh language, but adopted and adapted from something else. So Anglo-Welsh. Just saying like. It was interesting reading up on it!
  10. What? Are they charging for punctures now? I didn't get charged for mine. The nail was free.
  11. Heavy casualties there, and possibly NATO instructors working.
  12. I wanted to go back to Norway but this covid thing has messed up any plans I had. Have already done the NW500 or the best parts of it several times, and Fred will tell you that it's camper van central up there. I went up to Skye in a borrowed van over Xmas, thinking that it would be quiet, but everybody else must have had the same idea! Shit happens. With fuel costing what it is, it makes my flesh creep just thinking how much it'd cost to do the trip that I did to Norway again. That was 6.5k miles. That's about 590l assuming 50 mpg. In Norway that's about £2/l, so about £1200. Not cheap when you factor in the increased cost of accommodation and food. If the conflict escalates or spreads, then any European travel plans are academic anyway, I'll have to go to Scotland again.
  13. If that’s the best they can cobble together people will wise up and stay home. I only went once and was disgusted with the prices charged for so called burgers.
  14. Quickly moved it on to a mate from the club. His neighbour reversed into or should I say onto it as well as his wife's bike. He got double what it was worth from the insurance claim and bought himself a Triumph of some sort. Do you remember Fred? Spraggy had it. He liked it. I thought the suspension too soft, probably knackered!

    White Bread.

I bought a bread maker about two years or so ago, and after trying various types of bread now stick to baking a white loaf using French bread recipe. Brilliant for toast! Not so keen on the stuff with bird seed in it.
  16. Near Lom⁩, ⁨Oppland⁩, ⁨Norway⁩, September 2017 ‎⁨
  17. Quite a success story considering how dead it used to be. Must be the only clean river. Tales of woe regarding the constant pollution, and lack of prosecutions in many of the other rivers, especially here in Wales. It must be the same in most of the UK.
  18. Lands End just arrived from John o Groats overnight. June 2005.
