I'll need to check with my aunt, because this goes against all she tells me.
-
Fake news mate, my aunt lives in Torpoint and she is always telling me that weather is always glorious in Cornwall! . And that's aside from it being the centre of the known universe too!
-
Even I can't stand the sight of me in lycra........although I was tempted to wear it on Halloween, to scare the kids!
-
It's called contrition, Six, it's right next to constipation in the dictionary!
-
My apologies to Tym and the other members on here too. You don't want to come on here and see this and Pete's got enough to deal with already.

I had to do defensive driving at one of my companies years back. The company that did it used ex-police driving instructors, so we got a good insight into their techniques. I found it very valuable. Glad that you passed OK too.

Posting shit for 20 years is hardly a badge of honour is it!
-
Change the record, fella. We all know you don't like the English, but your constant sniping is getting very wearing!
-
That's what I explained, Rich, and you're absolutely right. Even though I'm retired I really don't have the free time to do it justice. It takes a good bit of commitment to do it right.

I'm glad that she was found safely. Heart in the mouth stuff, that! For all its flaws, there are times when social media is worth its weight in gold. Hopefully you can find a solution to the underlying problems.

The only flaw I can see with this is if one person romps it and all the other candidates only get 1 vote in the first round and are effectively eliminated? Obviously you could run the poll again without the overall winner participating, but that could drag the whole thing out. 3 votes, first, second and third choice, with some kind of weighting? People with the most first choice votes get the gig, in the event of a 3-way draw, then second choice then third choice votes come into play? Just musing out loud.
-
Is there going to be a first and second choice option in the poll, Pete? Top 2 win the gig?

A moderator, Sofia.........nothing as glamorous as military.

It went into a curry, mate, so it didn't stand a chance!
-
Yeah, it's easy. Just sling a bit of DNA into a pot and hey presto!
-
Just put finely diced potato, finely diced carrot, frozen peas and onion. Nice and simple. Not tried poppadoms, but we often make paratha or chapatis to go with it too! Also very simple to make. Not sure about the prawn korma, but the rest sounds really good.

Homemade vegetable samosas to go with the homemade turkey and lentil curry! A bit rustic looking, but tasted good.

Hold on there partner! it's looking like the nomination fairy has just visited you!

I nominate @busabeast then. Go get 'em tiger!

Getting the right mods is the challenge!
-
In response to those who advocate that the forum doesn't need moderators. You have insurance for your bike. You hope that you don't need it, but are glad of it when you do. Having a couple of mods to help spread the load from Pete is not a bad idea, but it's up to the members of the forum to make sure that they don't have much to do. Ideally they'd have bugger all to do, but we live in the real world!

I think that everyone appreciates that you've got a lot on your plate at the moment, Pete, and could do with some assistance in keeping this place together, but I'm really not sure I could give it the time that it needs, mate. To do the job effectively I think that the individual needs the respect, banter aside, of ALL the members on the forum and clearly I don't have that, but there are others here, as well as @boboneleg, who can command that respect, if they are willing to take up the mantle.

Sorry Pete, I'm really not following the logic here. Starting a thread to point out that maybe we've lost our way a bit and we should all of us try to get back on track isn't rabble rousing in my mind? Raising it to the wider group seemed the most appropriate way of getting everyone to acknowledge it and maybe look at ways to make it happen. It is the elephant in the room, it won't go away by ignoring it. I'm also not sure where else I could be accused of rabble rousing either? Maybe point me in the direction of said interaction? Anyway, enough rabble rousing, I've got homework to do.
