  1. I think the idea is for people just to have a taste. I don't know how many are going, but I'm guessing about 60, so 30 couples, so potentially 30 different soups! Yeah, that wouldn't end well!
  2. No, at the Salle de Loisirs.
  3. First heard this when I was 16 and still play it regularly. What songs have stuck with you since your teenage years?
  4. Still rockin' the shorts I hope you noticed. Fuckin' hard core, me!
  5. We've got a soirée tomorrow with our club, where everyone takes some homemade food along and everyone tucks in. The club supply the aperitifs, bread and wine to go with it. There's also a soup competition, where people take along homemade soup to be judged by the others. We're doing carrot cake and a carrot and coriander soup.......well, when I say we, OH has "got to go to the office" tomorrow for an important event, so muggins is left with cooking duties! Hopefully no one will die!
  6. Nah, not a tele person.
  7. I used to use ACF-50, but can't seem to get it over here.
  8. Sometimes even buying more expensive don't work out any better! I've got a couple of pairs of Merrel MOAB 2 Goretex shoes and a pair of Merrel goretex mid boots, none of which are particularly waterproof! I like the MOABs because they're super comfortable straight out of the box, but I don't know what they've done to the goretex! Not super cheap, but questionable quality! On the other hand I've also got a pair of Scarpa goretex mid boots and they seem to be pretty waterproof and are fairly light and pretty grippy and I've got a pair of Berghaus goretex fell walking boots. They're pretty heavy and rub slightly above my ankles if I don't tighten them correctly, but they're pretty bombproof! I've been through large puddles that almost come to the top of the boots, but no sign of any water getting inside! It's definitely a lottery, finding decent walking shoes and boots.
  9. So it should be. Check out all those cans of WD40 on the shelf by the bike!
  10. My OH doesn't sleep well so, consequently, neither do I! I have got one of those headphone headband things, which helps me get to sleep, but then the music wakes me up again in the early hours, so I have to take the band off. Have a listen to "The French Whisperer" on YouTube, he's very good at putting you to sleep!
  11. When I was 17 I could never understand why my mum wouldn't go to sleep until she heard me turn up at home at whatever time at night. Once I had kids I began to understand where she was coming from!
  12. Glad he's OK mate. Maybe now he sees the value in wearing the gear?
  13. If anyone has Alexa ask her to translate "Rishi Sunak carrot coffee bean 100" into Welsh and post it here please.
  14. Absolutely agree. Theirs was a 94 car that we bought in 96 and it got scrapped in 2016. The bodywork, apart from the door hinges, was in pretty good nick, considering it was kept outside and rarely got washed! The interior was a different story!
  15. There was virtually no rust on that Citroën, but the metal fatigue around the drivers door hinges were what killed it. It was the 3 door variant, so the driver and passenger door were bigger and consequently weighed more, which put extra strain on the hinges. Other than that it probably would have gone on for another 20 years.
  16. My ex had a Citroën ZX 1.9d, non turbo, for years and then handed it down to my eldest lad when he first passed his test. I think that in the nearly 20 years they had it it only needed a new battery and a couple of glow plugs, apart from tyres and brakes. Slow as fuck, but it just ran and ran. My lad only got rid because the drivers door hinges were pulling away, so the door dropped, and repairs were more than the car was worth. But it didn't have all the electronics and gadgets of newer cars.
