  1. Happy birthday Pete.
  2. Funnily enough, I used to go to a pub which was used by some of the guys higher up in the HA of England, some of them had pretty respectable jobs and were well educated. Obviously there were the foot soldiers, some of whom were not too bright, but you certainly didn't mess with any of them. It was rumoured that some of them there were involved in that little disagreement that took place in the New Forest years back.
  3. Not much going on this weekend, apart from going round friends for lunch on Sunday.
  4. Had labyrinthitus/ vertigo for most of the week, so I've felt fairly shit for most of it. Seems to be clearing up a bit now, so hopefully I'll be OK to fly on Tuesday!
  5. We're back to the UK for a few days next week. Mandy has to visit a customer in Cardiff, so I'm flying over with her and then I'm heading to my mum's for a couple of days. Then we're meeting in London on Friday and heading up to Cambridgeshire to see my lads and Mandy's son and then flying back on Sunday morning. €100 for the return flight for me. My lads are coming over at the beginning of June for a week. They got return flights for just over £100 for the pair of them!
  6. That's crazy! Maybe this is why Honda are doing this preregistration thing, to guage interest before the orders come in?
  7. We're on a water meter, so I was keen to investigate the leak, but it turns out that it wasn't the mains water.
  8. Phew, I was getting worried that you'd died or something!
  9. It was like that when I bought my CB500X. The delivery date kept getting pushed back. In the end that was around 4 months after the order was placed.
  10. I'm guessing that it's going to be the same here too.
  11. Finally managed to stop the water leak in our front garden. It was leaking from the garden watering system. Switching off the mains water supply didn't seem to have any effect. We found out that it was also supplied from well water pumped from one of our neighbours garden, but we didn't know where it was coming into our garden. I eventually tracked it down to a pipe which appeared from the neighbours garden, under a fence and buried in a hedge on the opposite side of our garden from where the leak was. It was coming through in a 1" black plastic pipe and then splitting off to go to the watering system and a standpipe. I couldn't see any way of isolating it, so I bought an inline plastic tap assy and a pair of plastic pipe shears and cut the pipe close to where it comes into the garden. Wasn't easy, as the water was still being pumped, but I managed to cut the pipe and fit the tap without getting too drowned! Hopefully this will keep our neighbour on the other side quiet now, as she tackled me about the leak every time she saw me, even though the leak was on my garden not hers!
  12. Managed to get out on a cycle ride this morning. First one since my op. It wasn't as painful as I was expecting!
  13. I've never had a v-strom, but the 650 seems to have a good following and reputation for reliability.
