Good luck mate. I'm guessing that they'll meet you somewhere in the middle on the price. Where is the house located?

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long, Pete. I've got to say that I've been really impressed with the healthcare here. Mandy had her first appointment for her gallstones a couple of months back. She had scans done in a couple of weeks, which confirmed the gallstones, then had a few weeks wait to see the gastroenterologist who decided that surgery was the best option. She then saw the surgeon, who looked at all the files and prodded her stomach to confirm that the diagnosis was good and then asked to set a date for the operation. Mandy declined the first date proposed, because it was just before her son came over, so the surgeon suggested the next date, which was last Tuesday.

Nice pics, Bob. You're on the donkey, what's your mate riding?

The Strom 800DE is tubed. The Strom 650 XC is tubeless. It seems that most of the new bikes in that class are running tubed tyres.

Thanks @Slowlycatchymonkey.

All this time you made your good lady suffer!

Thanks Pete. She's back home again now and not feeling too bad, so, it's looking good so far mate.

She's back home again now, Clive, thanks. The surgeon seemed pretty happy with how it went according to Mandy, so, fingers crossed!

Dropped Mandy off at the hospital at 7:00 this morning for her operation. She's back in the recovery room and waiting for the all clear so that I can go and spring her!

I'm in SW France, about an hour from the Spanish border, near to Narbonne.

I got out at 9am to trim the hedging by the pool, but gave up at 10:30 as it was sweltering out there and we're a few degrees cooler than where you are.

No plans for that yet, Pete, but Mandy is in for a gallbladder operation tomorrow!

Yes, it all seems to be OK now thanks, Pete.

Today was the first Sunday in weeks where we've not had visitors staying or being away on holiday. We had a nice leisurely breakfast, milled around indoors for a bit, went outside and wallowed in the pool for a while and then did a BBQ for dinner. I'll be phoning my mum in a mo, to catch up, although we do text pretty much every day, so I'm not sure what I'll be catching up with!

We paid 150€ each for Michelin Premacy 4s for the Audi plus had to pay nearly 90€ for fitting, valves and balancing! Then a further 230€ for front discs and pads and 180€ for a service. Just as well we don't use the car much now, hopefully this lot will last a few years! Oh, and it needs new rear discs and pads too before the CT (MOT) in September! This all comes as a shock after driving company cars for over 30 years, until I retired!
