  1. Yeah, I can still walk OK, Pete, but my big toe and the one next to it have both gone a nice shade of purple! The list price of the TA is 10599€. I think that there's enough interest in it that there won't be any negotiations on that price. The only thing that I didn't really like is the TFT screen. It's a bit small, so some of the info displayed is a bit hard to see and I've got pretty good vision! Otherwise it looks OK.
  2. Went a right pearler this morning going up the step from the veranda to the lounge. I think I may have broken a toe or two on my left foot. Pretty rare for me to trip over. Went to a dealers on Saturday and had a sit on the new Transalp 750. I quite like it. May have to arrange a test ride.
  3. My money is on a failed coil pack. They seem to be a BMW speciality! Funnily enough a guy that I know with an XR1000 had a similar thing happen to him a couple of weeks back, but he managed to get the bike to the dealership on limp home mode. Dunno if he found out what the actual problem was.
  4. Another track from a brilliant supergroup.
  5. Eldorado is a fantastic album. Boy Blue is another great track from it.

This is a pretty good review and sums up a lot of what I think about the bike.

The Scrambler 900 is a pretty good bike. Although his would be restricted the bike is more about the torque than the bhp, so it pulls pretty good from low revs. The pillion seat is pretty small, but it's the same on the Trident. The seat height is pretty low at 790mm, so it's pretty easy to flat foot it when stopped. It's quite heavy, 223kg, but it carries the weight pretty low, so you don't really notice it. The tank is only 12L, so the range isn't fantastic, but it's not too bad on the fuel. I'm getting around 4.0l/100km (70mpg), which is pretty good for a 900cc, 223kg bike. It's only got a 5 speed box, but it doesn't need any more really, because of the torque. The handling isn't too bad either. It's not in sports bike territory, but it can be moved along fairly smart! Would he be buying new, or secondhand?
