Myself, I enjoy doing that kind of work...especially if you've got an array of new parts for replacement. Inline 4's or parallel twins/triples are much more pleasant to deal with vs. wrestling w/ V4 carbs, which can sometimes be a real bitch.3 points

Oil, filters and plugs plus a general check over to make sure there were no problems……..oh and they adjusted my chain and oiled it. They seem to do a lower charge for bikes bought from them and then returned for servicing etc. Decent service I reckon………..I probably couldn’t afford your services Bob2 points

You can replace those screws holding the float bowls with Allen heads, much easier to undo if you have to get in there again.1 point

All done, carbs clean. All new jets and O rings. Emulsion tubes cleaned and checked, diaphragms all good. Carbs still retain original sync as I didn’t separate the bodies. Although I will balance them when they are on the bike. I will check the float valves are sealing before refitting the carbs but apart from the that ready to go. I want to drain the tank and get fresh fuel before doing more. Other more pressing jobs next on the list. Repairing my bike shed being top of it. Left over bits1 point

Yes he says , I was coming from town yesterday and it started to overheat again...lol...from his place its about 50 km or so...so on the way back I dropped it off...said ok Ill have a look...asked him did, did you change out the radiator ? He says no...lol. After checking it out , can't remember if it was cylinder # 2 or 3 but it was completely flooded with anti- freeze...lol...call him back , he starts getting upset on the phone...lol...tells me you don't warranty your work ? ...I tell him you want me to warranty a job with parts you got online on the internet...took the head to a machineshop that I don't do business with cause of crappy work...the shop didn't even remove the valves to check it for cracks and you drove that thing with a plug radiator....lol. Told him get that piece of shit out of the yard and if your not happy...take me to court...lol, never heard from him again...lol.1 point

Gave @Saul's Kawasaki thread a clean to try and not let it get hijacked by Marcel being teased.1 point

In the 27 years it never happened, I did trow maybe 2 or 3 customer out of the shop , remember this one guy ...lol...bought a 500 dallor car , a PT cruiser , bought it to the shop for a head gasker...he supplied all of the parts , gaskets , head bolts...after checking the car out , who ever sold it , stuck a can of sealer in the rad and the guy drove it down to shop wich was about a 80 km ride....lol1 point

Tell you what , its not because I didn't show him ...it's extremely hard to teach someone who don't show intress.. It's been a year now since I haven't done any serious wrenching, do I miss it , you might ask...a little maybe , but I sure don't miss the stress of operating a repairshop...1 point

Well the carbs came off without to much drama. Throttle cable was a bit of a pig but ok in the end. Initially took the float bowls off and there was some sludge so have cleaned them all out. Gonna re watch some carb cleaning vids before going any deeper. On a side note the carb rubbers are not old at all. Both airbox and motor sets. All pliable and in great condition. I’m fairly sure that have been replaced at some point. Also the air filter looks in very good condition and must have been replaced recently in mileage terms. Good to find out but sort of wish I didn’t have a new one sitting on the bench, that is a few quid I could have saved as are the new set of rubbers. I intend to keep the bike so they will be used at some point.1 point
