Well finally got my old shed cleaned out with a fresh roof on it so I have somewhere to work on my bikes. Did the roof yesterday and all drying out nicely in there today despite pissing down all night. So no reason not to get on with the jobs in hand now. I think I will get the service done first then move onto the fork seals after. Found this while cleaning the shed out Also be under no illusions the shed is rotten in places, could be fixed and I may during the summer I have plenty of wood around to do it. Being arsed is the factor. Be a lot cheaper than replacing it. Smells pretty funky in there hoping that will go as it dries out. I bought the shed 20 plus years ago to keep my R100RS and R100R in. Obviously no work benches then. I got a photo somewhere.2 points

When my boy had one it suffered a common fault with the clutch basket drive cog splitting. Was never a prob but drove me nuts to the point I had to replace it.2 points

I got a seat off eBay some time ago when the boy had an old cg125. That had Yamasaki on the side too.1 point

It's a Branded Land Rover push bike. Apparently they are valuable according to my Mrs. Whether we get anything for it or not is up to her I don't care. I may find another home for it, it's more barn find condition and I can't see why anybody would want it but then again I'm not a Land rover freak.1 point

Just been out checking with a screwdriver as you suggest and that rattling is not coming from the engine. I have tried all over the motor and gearbox and all I hear is mechanical whirring noise as it should be. No rattles at all in the casing as far as I can tell. Shadow is off to Truro in a minute but I will strip the panels off later when she gets back and look for something loose, the rattle is sort of metallic so should narrow it down a little.1 point

I’m pretty sure the current motor they use is a Chinese built derivative of the Yamaha lump they used on the earlier bikes, regardless of if they fold or not, I suspect the bikes will continue to be made but possibly under a different name. It would make a good addition to some other brand that only has mega expensive bikes like Norton for example.1 point

Odds are it is the cam chain tensioner then, have you checked to see if it is tensioning? There is usually some sort of simple test.1 point

Doesn't sound like you had a good day ... but at least she's ok, If nothing else she should learn from this. Getting a call to say your kid has been involved in an accident must be the worst ...0 points

FFS Shadow went down again. She is okay but the bike is scuffed. Busted indicators and bent foot peg. I’m fighting a losing battle trying to keep her bike tidy. To fast in the wet and hit gravel going around a roundabout. I not happy with her she knows better than to take those sort of risks, just stupid. silly bloody bint I have a spare indicator lens for the front don’t know the extent of the damage to the rear as to weather I can fix it or if she needs a replacement. I have spare foot pegs. Crash bars and exhaust I can paint. Those pics are all I have. Will see the true extent when she gets home.0 points
