Anyone know anything about mass airflow sensors?
Nute replied to Nute's topic in MOTORCYCLE WORKSHOP
I was going to make my own exhaust but on a trial, welding tube pieces together I found it difficult to make them neat as I don’t have a rotary thing which turns the work piece so I have to stop every few seconds to reposition everything. I also don’t have a way of purging the inside of the tube with argon so the inside of the weld looks shit and I’m not sure how that would affect the strength long term …. So I gave up and bought a used one. Even with the rough mock up exhaust the kick stand hits the muffler so I thought I would drill and tap a socket head screw into the yoke of the kick stand so by winding the screw in or out I could control how far the stand closed in the up position to keep the end clear of the can. Even being very careful with the tap the bloody thing broke off in the hole and I don’t have a broken tap extractor & at 4mm it might be too small anyway. Plan B, after some shouting a swearing, biuld up a weld on the thing the kick stand closes against and I can then file it down to suit once I have the new exhaust…then find I’m on the last gasp of Argon so had to do it with the min possible gas flow rate so it looks shit, but at least it will / should work. I was too annoyed and irritated to take any photos - Yesterday

Well I got 120 miles in after church, I have 250 since Monday so will drop the oil out this week to clear out all the assembly lube and anything from the new parts. Will also an auto tune or two, I think it is running a bit rich at the moment.

Pissing down again here. I can't be arsed to go out and feed he bunnies.

I just got back from prowling the night. I need to get the neck bearings in before long as I can definitely feel them tramlining under load, they will have to wait until I get back from Wales though as I don’t have time to sort them before then.

You could fall off that no problem.

That is just another thing to go wrong, and its a Honda.... no thanks

Another new-fangeled "By-Wire" contraption ... wonder how long the steering head internals will last?
-
Has they say your not getting any brighter with age....

My bike only carries one passenger, the bus carries 130. The company wouldn't be too pleased.

Here's a bright idea....why not ride your bike to work ?..
-
A bike for @busabeast, also good for shortarses like @Marcel https://www.facebook.com/share/r/17mYbxNaHA/

It’s beautiful this morning, ah well, time for work.

We had the guests too but with the rain. Not that I'd planned to go anywhere.
-
Was hoping to get out for a ride this evening but it’s blowing a gale. Once the wind drops it will be raining again. Hopefully I can get a few miles in on Sunday after church.

Newport in the 70/80's was proper rough if you strayed into the wrong areas. The Ringland estate was almost a no-go zone ......
-
5 miles from there it's rough as guts.

The last time I went there after a BMW Bike meet at Abergavenny Bus station in 2006 it was pretty rough in Newport I was a bit apprehensive when were invited by Bois Y Brynn to sing in their Pirates of the Port Festival. But the lads wanted to go so we did. Had a great weekend in good company, really felt a much nicer place. You can see a lot of money has been invested there. I particularly liked singing in the Corn Exchange and Fire and Ice. Also had good sets in Le Pub and the Cab. I would go back in a heartbeat but the lads want to try elsewhere as we don't get to go away as a group more than once or twice a year. Prices for everything were good as well. I don't drink but my mate told me he was paying £3 to £3.90 for guiness. It's £8 to £9 down here.

5 miles from me.
