The Bol D’or is on Eurosport 2 right now. I suppose every country is different with broadcasting, so you might not get it for free.

I love these endurance racers with lights on!

We no longer get Eurosport, TNT took over, have to subscribe (£32) to it monthly..

I binned it for that reason.    When I first signed up it was £6 a month then just went up and up.   I like following Premiership Rugby but I am just not willing to pay over £30 a month for it.    I just watch what I can when I can now.      Been enjoying the Women’s Rugby World Cup for the last few weeks.

Yeah like poxy bloody football,  I dont understand why they have to show so many games of over paid fairies kicking a bag of wind and falling over pretending they are injured, yet rugby we're lucky if they show a couple of games a week

What stretch are you fishing ?

We did Home fishery, Dean and Chapter and The Old Harp … I think, all close ish to Ross on Wye, kipped at the Royal Hotel RoW.  I didn’t organise it and just turned up at the what three words locations and fished. Five of us, 45 or so fish all Chub and Barbel, best Chub around 5lbs but they were all 3-5 lbs, best Barbel just under 10lbs. Just got home bloody knackered & somewhat muddy. Makes up for all the trips in the past where we have blanked or arrived to find everything flooded 😁

Funnily enough pre season we used to play what we called 70’s football which was basically just kicking/tripping/elbowing the shit out of each other.    Was a bloody hoot.   Almost a relief to get back to rugby training after.    🤣🤣🤣

What do you do with the catch?

Put it back. No idea if you could eat it or not, but it’s been in a muddy river which the UK water utilities are not above occasionally dumping sewerage into. The water must be pretty clean or you wouldn’t get the amount of wildlife on and around the river that we saw but the rules are catch and release.

The point of barbel fishing is that they fight so hard once hooked, very exciting and you might not see what you have hooked for quite a while.

Chilly out first thing this morning.   Chose silver this morning.   Haven’t rode the Hornet for 3 weeks or so, sometimes I forget what a bloody good all rounder it is.   I will get others but the Hornet is a bike for life for me I reckon. 😎

Not in my opinion,

I got what you meant wrong then, sorry.

Didn’t mean to be too critical of costumes, I just found it funny that people fish for things they won’t eat just as a fun activity.

I'm just soft when it comes to all living things, don't like to think of anything hurt for entertainment.  Suppose I am hypocritical in one way as I eat animals but if I had to do the butchering I am pretty sure I wouldn't.   Used to fish, to eat, when I was younger won't now.  😳

If you want to view it that way. They were all returned safe and sound and handled with great care when out of the water for the minimum possible time.

The money I pay to be able to go do this contributes to clean ups of the rivers, breeding and stocking programs for the fish, works to encourage rare or endangered water/ water side animals and management of the overall habitat. I'd like to see it go further than it does, but without it our countryside might not be as attractive as it is.

I get that. Same thing can be said for the bullfighting and keeping the landscape like it should be. It's a complex matter.

I use to river fish (Trent) with dad in law,  i would spend more time asleep on the bank instead of fishing 😂 when the weather was good..... after he passed away I could not be bothered to go on my own.

I have fished in Majorca while on holiday, caught some good sized Mullet, but we no longer travel abroad so no longer fish at all.

I gave all my fishing gear to my son, who almost immediately sold the lot. 😂

Im one of those who doesn't catch what bullfighting is about...I guess like you were saying its a cultural thing...

Speaking of sport fishing..we have this stripe sea bass that was introduced some years back...its now considered and evasive species...lol

These thing can grow to 5 feet long weighing up to 50lbs or more..extremely powerful fish to catch on a fishing rod...
