Don't know what you're on about...the guy isn't and amateur...ownes one of the biggest speed shops for harleys in the states...its not like the rear tire was up in the air running on a jack stand...you can tell at the end of the video by the smurk on his face...he's definitely impressed by the challenger....

But he in not doing it at the strip, so its really meaningless

Rich, as a tip for the videos, try uploading them to youtube as shorts, that way you can zoom in during the video. If the image is good you will not look so distant and will look a lot faster.

I would prefer to go through some chains and clutches before adding a longer swing arm, better to learn properly before improving the bike.

If the video is 4K then he could zoom in on the edit before uploading and still be in 1080p or greater.

I will do that from now on, I didn't know that about shorts

I was just thinking extended swingarm will counteract it wanting to flip at higher rpm launching

Just hike your podgy belly up on the tank, that should keep the front end down.

Not at all...has it stands...having you not 100% committed to the launch...I'd have a dam good chance ....im not saying 6 months from now...when you figure out and with more practice...

You need to post a video doing a standing start to show him how it is done.

I could probably do with leaning forward more on the launch to keep it down you're right, its something I'll be testing on the next day there

He can't, his clutch won't be able to handle it getting all that weight moving

A good chain and healthy clutch will make it feel right, you need experience to learn how to launch it properly by feel instead of trying to cheat by improving the bike. A swingarm will make the same issue reveal itself going faster, making it more of a problem for someone inexperienced.

Maybe a slower bike would be better for learning? I would just carry on with yours with good tires and parts.

That’s my knowledge after having done no racing! It’s worth what you’re paying for it :classic_laugh:

The chain and clutch so far both seem good, just a new tyre and it will hopefully transform it off the line so long as I bed it in before I go to the pod
